Lee, of course you know that we won't turn you in ;D I have heard others talk about set screws but didn't have any experience myself, that's why I asked. thanks for the detailed description- as always you were forthright Do you think that it could be possible to use a set screw for + or - camber or would it be to much hassle? Again, no experience here. Beautiful cars- can't wait to see them run!

Dapine- you continue to amaze everyone with your builds- really a beauty to add to your photo gallery on this board of 19 cars? I think that is a record. Very nice work!!!

Well, Sapp, I suppose you could use the set screw as a jack screw for setting camber, similar to what Nascar or other racing facilities do to load the suspension, but you'd really need to sit and think about your suspension, prior to building your car. You'd need a void to push the axle end into and a fulcrum point to pivot the axle up or down at the wheel end. You'd probably need two screws to raise/lower the axle at the wheel end, plus enough body material to make a decent threaded hole for the screws. For all that work, your car better be faster than a speeding bullet to be worth all the engineering involved ;D For me, I'll just use 'em to keep my axles in place 'cause I have to and maybe next time, I won't remove so much wood in that area when making a weight cavity Later... Lee PS; thanks for not turning me in to the coin police

Scott, it's just a spoof on the word .Thought somebody would ask anyways , "The love of lubing", as in lubricating the wheels/axles, you know, the messy stuff that gets all over the house but not where its' needed most You're right about the cars! I think this event is bringing out a lot of quality stuff, and it's almost like, who wants to race, lets just show off what we can do with a little paint and some wood! Sort of like a national autorama, but in miniature. Personally, I'm happy just to be in the same room as you guys As I posted earlier, I hope somebody takes lots of pictures and posts them for those of us that can't be there Later... Lee

Mrs. F., THAT is a COOL CAR!!! VERY NICE!!!In fact, Max and I might try to replicate that (if you wouldn't mind and only with your permission) for our Cub Scout car next year. Max's grandma/my mother-in-law recently celebrated her one year anniversary of surviving breast cancer, and I just showed the picture of your car to Max and my daughter and explained that the ribbon shape was like just like the breast cancer ribbons they wore when we did the Walk for the Cure. They both thought it was really cool, and more importantly Max said he'd like to "make a car just like it for Grandma" for his cub scout car next year because he "thought she'd really like that." So... not only is your car cool, but it served as a great inspiration to my kids to do something nice for their grandma... so... thank you very much for being our inspiration! Also... I'd read earlier that you might call your car "Pretty in Pink", which is what my daughter wanted to call her car. I told her that that name might already be taken, and she was kind of bummed, but as long as you're not using that moniker any longer, I'd like to thank you a second time... and with no further ado... here's my daughter Ashlyn's car for the Bluegrass race, "Pretty in Pink!"

Since July 13th when the posting of cars for the upcoming "Bluegrass Nationals", we've had the opportunity to view many sharp designs and vibrant colors. Featuring Da Pine, Derby Doc, Atlas, Beakerboys/Beakergirls, Knotthead, Slow Steve, and Lucky 13. We look forward to seeing more awesome racers. Hope we didn't leave any builders out!
Good Luck!

John, your cars are gorgeous! If they all run as well as Ying Yang did last weekend, you're going to go home with a bunch of trophies from Bluegrass. I look forward to seeing your cars run!
