...I did get started on the next HR66 which I made out of Balsa and Pine. I cut a Pine chassis and then shaped a Balsa body to the top and glued on. The incredible thing about the Balsa as I was able to get the COM at 1/2 inch and pack 5 1/4 oz. back around the rear axle! I don't know how stable she's going to be but I'm real excited about this one. Looking good so far, Scott! Very nice! ...Though I haven't been sanding and filing and shaping and painting my wife has. She had so much fun building the first car Beakerette, she wanted to another one. I am very proud of her as this car in my opinion turned out really good. She's having trouble though coming up with a name. She is thinking about the Pink Panther or Pretty in Pink. Any suggestions from you guys would be cool. A few come to mind: Cotton Candy Pink slip (drag racing... pink slip... a little double entrendre... get it?) Pink Lady (check with Warren, Derby Widow may have used this one already if that is an issue for you - gettin' too old to remember for sure). Purdy Girl (spelled the Kentucky way just for Bob ) Girl's club Later boys (guessing she'll be quick) Death to housework (oops, getting "off track"... pardon the pun) Curtsy (for those of us that remember what that is... haven't seen one in a while LOL) Bubblicious (gum or bubble bath, her choice) Melonball ...that's all that come to mind "off the top of my head" ...Alright guys, back to the Pine wood Lab, got some tuning and building to do. Only 5 weeks to go! See Ya Scott Beakerboys 5 weeks... tuning... man, I better get a move on Bubba

Scott, I really like the pink car, that thing looks like it should be in an art museum! Very stylish, excellent design.

Hey Guys, You know I really like the polished and shining hotrods put out by the likes of Boyd Coddington and Chip Foose. Those type cars are works of art, but I have always loved the Rat Rod. You know, the old car that someone with limited funds threw together with stuff he had laying around. Some of the coolest Hot Rods I have ever seen didn't have a 18 coat hand rubbed Laquer paint job but just simply primer black with maybe some old school flames.. That being said, CSR Racing decided to go with that theme for his entry into HR66. Meet 4ONTHEFLOOR: See ya Scott Beakerboys

Beak, 4onthefloor is very nice. If you recall our conversation a while back about the earing backs- yours appear to be the same as mine. Tell me though, do those drill blanks bend or do they break? not tried it yet myself. Thanks

3cubdad:
Great work. The boys should be proud of themselves, I know you must be proud of them. It will be a real pleasure to race with them and you in Somerset. Best of luck.

Thought you guys might get a kick out of this..... I was down in my workshop this afternoon, (ok, it's the storage side of the basement with a workbench and a PWD track, but I link to THINK of it as a "workshop" ). anyway, I was down there with my two youngest boys working on sanding and gluing when the missus comes down to check on us. I handed her the body we had cut out the night before and told her it was ready for her to prime and we could work on the wheels and axles later. She laughingly said: "I thought you were going to build it for me so I could just race it, (she said batting her eyes). Before I could respond, my youngest son, 6, piped in: "Mooooom, YOU know the rules! You don't build it, you don't race it!" God I love that boy! (yes, she sat down and primed it!) Steve

Well, I thought I was done building cars for the BGN ? Instead (and with some help from BeakerBoys ) I found myself working on one more entry. Here is "Prozak" my new modified. The car looks blue in the pictures, but is actually a flourescent purple with flourescent green flames. I'm gonna try to get some track time with it tonight and see how it stacks up !!

I have a request.
Will you and Tory put on a paint clinic at BGN?
I sure would like to see how you guys turn out such beautiful cars.
