Thanks Warren,
I had used superglue on them, but I'm using the rubber backings, so I'm not sure how well they were glued on. I'm going to have to try a couple of other materials!

Well unfortunately it looks like I won't be racing this weekend I was trying to tune Out-of-time and pulled the rear wheels and axles. I really messed up the rear end alignment. In trying to fix the alignment, I ended up not only stipping the axle holes, but I also stripped the set screw holes. The car is now running .04 slower than last month and I still can't get the alignment to hold. arrrggggg. I don't think I can get it fixed in time to get it in. Steve 3cubdad Steve, you are in obvious need of a pep talk. In dark moments like these I'm oft reminded of one of my favorite lines from my favorite movie of all time... Animal House... (work with me here... picture my fat self as Bluto, Belushi's character, spewing forth this inspirational message): "Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!...
What the f**k happened to the Delta 3Cub I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night Limited race of our lives, but you're gonna let it be rear alignment troubles make it the your worst. "Ooh, we're I'm afraid to go race with you Bluto ProQuest/Lucky 13/Slow Steve, we I might get in trouble lose by .04 seconds." O.k... now this is where I have to take even more poetic license, but Steve, you need to retort as follows: "Well just kiss my a*s from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. WormerProQuest's Wasabi, heit's a dead mancar! MarmalardLucky 13's Sinister X, dead! NiedermeyerSlow Steve's Sushi, dead! My Out of Time is gonna beat 'em ALL!!!"
"We'reI'm just the guys to do it. Let'sI'm gonna do it!!! <--- said by 3Cub Come on now... get down into your basement and FIX that car... that thing kicked my cars BUTT last month and dang it, I want a chance to beat it THIS month! Plus, SOMEBODY'S gotta try to beat Wasabi and it sure isn't gonna be Sushi!!! Now... with that off my chest... ummm... we lost power on Sunday evening at 4:58 just as I started gluing parts together on our pickup truck, and the power didn't come back on until after 3:00 a.m. Monday morning... so we really haven't even started our pickup truck since last night we had Cub Scouts and then I had to do work benefits enrollment online with my wife until late last night... so I'm gonna be headed into MY basement tonight to try to throw together a pickup truck, so we're in the same boat. I think I need the ghost of Belushi to make a house call to my house this evening to motivate me just like I tried to motivate you... lol... In any case... DON'T GIVE UP and I expect to see Out of Time AND your pickup truck at the race on Saturday!!!

Just shipped ours off this morning. We're in with Disclosure (Pro-Mod) and the 2 pickups. Didn't get any track time with the pickups, just hopin' we don't embarrass ourselves. Struggling with names as follows: The "Hillrod" (click here) I think we may end up calling either "Hillybilly Deluxe" (good album BTW...) or "The Deer Hunter" (in honor of the big giant bumper we added to the front) . The 1929 Model A (click here) we may end up calling "Old Timer", "Grandpa", "4 Banger", "See Ya Lucky" , not sure yet. With any luck we'll be on line Saturday for the Pickup show (can't wait to see PQ's). MPQIMH Bubba

"Did you leave your guns in the box when when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!?" We all want to see your new Pure Stocker run with the Limiteds! (well... at least I do! Lube 'em up, slap those bad boys into a packing carton, ship 'em two day or whatever is needed, and let's race!!! Humerus is a living legend... even if it's getting a bit long in the tooth, you still should let that thing run for the last two months of the year, if only to earn points for year end standings... Come on... I MISS you!!! ;D

Bubba... I looked again at the pics of your trucks... sigh... I'm not worthy. Max and I started our pickup last night... the whole reason Max was excited about the trucks was that they looked like "real cars" not just slabs of wood (he marveled at your Pickups when he first saw your pics months agao)... well... as our body came together last night... Max looked at me and said something to the effect of "Dad, our truck looks like a thicker block of wood with a roof glued to it." Hopefully we can salvage some pride with paint... Max has aready picked out pink and green... lol... on second thought... we may just stick with LOTS of stickers... that could hopefully give us at least some legitimacy from an appearance sake (gooooooooooooo Snap On! Beak... we'll do our best to make you proud! (assuming I can find the stickers)). I really need that Birel guy who can paint pretty cars to move in next door...

Thanks Warren. : ) Max loves stickers... hopefully we can find them at home but if we don't we sure appreciate any you've got laying around. Our goal will be to finish the body tonight, paint tomorrow evening, and play around with it a bit on Friday evening before the race. Once again my in-laws (the peanut gallery) are coming to town, so they may bring Max down to the race . I'll try to get there early again to help out; Max has hockey until 10:00 on Sat. so I can leave home by 10:30 or so and ought to be able to get to the church around 11:00 or so if that's when you'll start unloading. I'm noticing a trend... I think that's three out of four months now that my in-laws have come to town on a race weekend (and they normally only visit 2 - 3 times a year)... if this trend continues I'm gonna have to stop attending races! Maybe Max can slap a couple on mine? Bubba p.s. Go Max!!! We'll try to dig up some extras to bring with, and it sounds as if Warren has some too. We've got the body weight of our truck down to just under 3/4 ounce, so despite an egregious lack of aesthetics, we're hoping it'll be competitive from a speed perspective since we'll be able to play around with weighting... but "being competitive" from a speed perspective might be a stretch given it won't hit the track until Friday evening at the earliest... ugly and fast is one thing... ugly and slow is... ummm... lol... becoming a trend for us! ;D That's o.k... we're gearing up for 2009... that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Hey, if Max doesn't sticker Team Bubba's truck maybe we can DQ them. Maybe just a 2 second penalty so mine can place other then last. . . Wow - was that a nice dream! ;D I'm sure Max can help get a sticker or two on them. Any other requests? My truck is maybe ready for primer. . . . well, that is the schedule if I am to get it painted tomorrow and weight and wheels on it by Saturday. . . We Northern Builders seem to be a bit slow -- -- the weather is truning cold and things are slowing down. Got some boxes today: Zip Codes: 29651, 30563, 89133

It's 12:30 Thursday morning and I just packed it in it's shipping box! Yes, I love a challenge, I just hope UPS overnight gets it to Warren on Friday! It took a LOT of superglue! I don't think it's as fast as last month, about 0.01 slower, but I'm out of time!!!! No time for Old Yeller, that'll have to wait until December. Hey Warren, how about right before the races start you give us all a view of the truck entries on the webcam so we don't have to wait for the pics? Hopefully I'll see you all on-line. Steve 3cubdad

2:00 a.m. Thursday here and the epoxy is still wet on my Truck. I've been using the 5 minute stuff. Switched to the 60 minute version -- turned out to be . . . well, I don't know how long the dadgum stuff will take to set. It has been 3 hours so far. Got Wasabi cleaned and relubed, but Ron and Bad Habit are going back to Warren exactly like they arrived from him three weeks ago. Hey 3Cub, looks like you're not the only one who's "Out-of-Time." LOL.
Good luck all.
