I have built a new Pure Stocker that I am very happy with. I think that it might be close or maybe slightly better then Mooberg. I can hope can't I? This car is fast, real fast. I can not believe how much faster it is over my Burned series of cars. I thought I was dreaming when I first ran it down my track. Well I guess time will tell on this car, I of course do not have a 42 ft. track. I am not even sure I will send this one in, I might just hold on to this one till Bluegrass. I would like to be there when this one runs for the first time.
Well if this does not excite your soul, I am not sure what will. It excites mine. I am not going to post pictures of this one as it might give away something that I do not want out. I will admit that I pushed everything to the limits on this car.
I hope this excites the souls out there to build their best and send them in. I am planning on building several more similair to this and I hope one is even faster.
I am looking forward to May!!!

Great job Evolution,
I don't doubt for a second that your new car will give us all all that we can handle and then some. Congrats. Can't wait to see it run.

Beak,
No can do. This thread is not worthless, it excites and gets you motivated to build or tune. I am going to try and do some tuning today.

Congratulations Evolution, that is quite an accomplishment! Mooberg is a very fast Pure Stocker! One of the fastest I've ever seen! Can't wait to see your car run! I just love fast cars! ;D

Here is the problem I have. I know how fast it is on a 35ft track, I just do not know how fast it is on a 42 ft track.
Can anyone give me a simple formula to figure it out.
I know it is the fastest pure stocker I have made. I just stopped and thought about it for some time. Things like where I got my wood, how dry my wood was, body shape, body weight, weight placement, axles, wheels, and everything else that goes with it. LOL!!!

Oh how did I know someone would go there! I am all about keepig this one under wraps till BGN. I have several more cars in the works now that I figured something out.
Also I will be in Indy on the 4th to go to the Indiana State Musuem race. That will be fun the track is 125 ft long. I will not have this car there.

It needs to run a 2.45 or better on your 35 ft track to get down where Mooberg. Scott Beakerboys PS We still want to see pics!

Well from my calculations based on what Bubba's car "Disclosure" ran at PWD the same time Mooberg ran and comparing them to the times "Disclosure" ran at PDDR, Mooberg should be somewhere in the low to mid 2.97's. That's fast. I will have 3 Pure Stockers ready and waitng for you. It should be fun. I too have a Pure Stocker that will most likely not be seen until BGN. I have no idea how good my math skills are. So take my calculation as a wild guess.

My Stocker ran a best of 2.95's on the PDDR track in "07" and it is considerably faster now than it was then. I don't know how close my track is to the PDDR track, but either way, you're right... Mooberg is fast! David

By the way I have searched the BGN website over and find no mention of prize money. You are correct DerbyRacer, there is no prize money given out at the BGN (except in the Mills Craft Shootout). The overhead to run a first class race in a first class venue is overwhelming. The overhead for The Center alone is HUGE !! Yes, I could give away prize money, if everyone wants the car entry to be about $30 + dollars each. In trying to pay the bills and keep the entry price per car at a minimum level, I have no choice but not to give prize money out. We do however, give away a several thousand dollars worth of door prizes and trophies to the winners thanks to all are awesome sponsors. Lucky 13

Evolution,
Do you have the option of placing any timing sensors elsewhere in your test track outside of the finish line? Say the bottom of the starting slope/beginning of the flat?
Something I've found this year is that two of our cars are running the same times on our 32' track. Thing is, one is faster to the start of the flat, the other is slowing down less from that point to the end of the track. Making up the difference by the finish line. If that makes sense. I know if I had that other 8', the second car would beat it over 40'.
You could compare those times to other cars and give yourself a good feeling about how much speed you're scraping off during the flat section. Hopefully, not much at all. You'll get a feeling real quick. Our second car is averaging about .870 to traverse the flat. The other is .88
You can see we are losing speed with one.
Just a suggestion to give you more information.

Steve, You should be able to start getting a decent baseline with the cars you've already sent to PWDR. It will at least give you an idea if the new car is faster. I've got a 42 ft track, feel free to send it here and I'll run it for you ;D !! Lucky 13

Thanks all for the replies. I know I am close with this car. I am not sure what I am oing to do with it just yet. I am going to build a few more to see if this car is a one off or I can make a few more close to it. If it is a one off then I do not want USPS having their fun with it. I would only be able to cry if something happened to this car at this point.
