Oh my... as we suspected this thing is NOT pretty... no primer, no sanding sealer, just plain wood and some quick drying lacquer and some magic markers... but this was a FUN build!!! ;D Max even begrudgingly admits it almost looks almost like a real car (I'm NOT gonna show him Firenze's cars or he'll be bummed out... *smile*... dad's gotta bask in the glow for as long as it lasts!). We just just glued the body to the chassis and are about to go downstairs to see if it will make it down the track. No matter what, this has been a blast. You all had better look out... Bubba may have a big, chromed, blown Hemi powering his car... be we've got a MAXI under (or rather... on top of...) the hood!!! ;D See everyone tomorrow! Slow Steve and Max Side view... Front quarter view... View from above... Our "MAXI" motor!

That motor has to be good for 400-500 horse power ;D !! Ok, I have to ask the dumb question (not my first by far and definitely not my last ), How did you get the wheels on ? Did you put them on then add the sides ? By the way, cool idea !! Lucky 13

Well played SS. Great concept, and with the Maxi power under/on the hood, no doubt it will be hard to beat. Best of luck with it.

Slow Steve and Max I've run across HyperMax diesel "tweaks" before, but not a "HyperMax" Pinewood truck. The rest of us could be in big trouble Good Luck, HyperMax. Should be a very good race tomorrow Bubba

Thanks for the nice comments guys! Building this truck was really fun and I'm still smiling just thinkin' of Max on the hood. The rest of us could be in big trouble I don't think you guys have anything to worry about; it may be ugly but it's also... slow! I kind of figured at 8 ounces the thing should fly (HR66's do and they're only 6 ounces), but we couldn't get "DuraMax" to run any faster than a Limited. That's o.k.; it's gonna be cool to watch 3 pickups running' down the track! Time for Max's hockey, see you guys in a while! Slow

Mad Max,
I like the design, color scheme, a the graphics on your pickup. Appreciate the compliment on our truck. We wanted to paint ours but just ran out of time. Good luck today with the races!

It occurred to me a little while ago that "DuraMax" has a bit of a SuperBird flair to it... only thing missing is the big wing on the back. Bubba

Bubba,
"Sour Mash Express" and "Run Bambi Run" are a couple of cool Trucks! We like the Flames, Supercharged Motor and bumper on Run Bambi Run. Do both trucks have independent chassis?

Firenze Derby SportsCars Tom: Yes, they both have a removable body that is attached to the frame with one or two phillips head screws. Underneath Sour Mash Express is basically a rail car, underneath Run Bambi Run is a narrow / arrow type frame. I will get some pics for you when I get them back, if you don't get them from me in a week or two shoot me a PM... Bubba
