Here is a picture of a new car I just finished. It is actually built as a pure stocker but who knows...it may show up one day as a limited ;D

It must be faster than Ostein... sounds like you've got a contender on your hands there Bob... I can't wait to see it run in October! Good luck!

thanks guys...yes I am taking it to Lima. hasn't had a lot of track time or tuning yet but it had some very good runs and a few not so good runs. it will need a bit more work when I get back because if it is not staged right it can be a bit touchy. gonna get a baseline to work with. this is also my first oil car.
lucky...see you there!

Hey DocB, How did you make out with the oil at Lima?
One thing for sure it keeps the car nice and clean.
Nice ride by the way.

Hey DocB, How did you make out with the oil at Lima? One thing for sure it keeps the car nice and clean. Nice ride by the way. I think I am going to give this oil thing a try for a while. I am still new at it but was happy with how the car ran. Still not sure how many runs to go with oil before having to re-lube. I only lubed it once and ran it a bunch of times at home before running it at Lima, I think i may have run it a bit too many times before the race. My first run was my fastest and it beat Ostein by about a car length then the times slowed a bit so I think i was running out of lube It's going to take a bit of time to perfect the process i guess. I definitely like the cleanliness of it however. Thanks for the compliment on the car ;D

Now that we are on the subject of oil. I have been an oil user exclusively for quite some time now. When I was at the BGN race I discovered that my cars had picked up quite a bit of graphite before they were ever raced. I can only guess that the contamination came from the "go/ no-go" box. Did anybody else have the same problem? Maybe we can have a box for oil and a second box for graphite lubed cars, that way the oil users may get a few races in before being contaminated. Thoughts?

Leo:
Having two check fixtures -- one for oil, one for graphite -- is a great idea. Only Lucky can give the official word, but I'm pretty sure you can count on that for next year.

Did anybody else have the same problem? Leo I think anyone/anything that got within 100 yards of "The Center" (the Bluegrass venue) risked serious graphite contamination!!! ;D I used to think I was a bit over the top with the amount of graphite I apply to our cars (I'm on record as saying I try to "cram as much graphite into the bores as possible" because our cars seem to run so much better with a TON 'o graphite in 'em) until I saw LA Sound applying his graphite... holy smokes... my graphite application is miserly by comparison! LA's hands were silver/black, the table was silver/black... I didn't feel like such a mutant after watching his lube regimen (but he was very careful to lube them well away from all other cars/thoroughly cleaned up the mess/cleaned them off before checking in/etc.). In any case, the inspection team (3Cub) did appropriately make me wipe my cars down/rattle any loose graphite out of my bores prior to even getting near the inspection area, so I know they took simple precautions to ensure that a minimum amount of graphite was present at the inspection area. Given graphite lovers like me, I very much understand your concerns about the possibility of contamination when there are so many graphite cars around. I'm going to experiment with oil myself on my next car... if I can get it to run well as with graphite I'd gladly use oil exclusively in the future as the graphite mess is such a pain (plus my cars are ugly enough to begin with... the graphite certainly doesn't enhance their beauty!). Your separate measuring box is a great idea, especially at a big race like Bluegrass. Steve B.

Wasn't me! I was last one to get to checked in. Mine was a bit more messy than normal because I had to rush and lube 9 cars. Took a bit more time than expected to finish on the track than i thought. I should have done them the night before...
I have created a new bore method that sprays graphite out towards the cars next to me to take down any oil users. I couldn't install the blades so I thought this would have to do.

I like the idea of your graphite spewing bores as long as my car is running next to yours! I can only get 4 or so good runs before my cars start to slow down due to running low on graphite... maybe Warren can offer a "preference choice" as to whom one's car runs next to??? My cars need all the help they can get!!! ;D
