Not so much in the horrible performances of my cars, but in the fact that nobody has busted my chops about "Nautical Wheeler's" comical display. C'mon guys, that was hilarious! Like I always say "If you can't laugh at yourself, then laugh at somebody else".
In all seriousness, congratulations to all our winners. I am continually amazed at how fast you can get these cars to run, every month gets quicker and quicker.

Thanks for the great race yesterday everybody. It was a lot of fun seeing the new cars and amazing times. Definitely one of the highlights was your "Nautical Wheeler" Enrico. The video doesn't really do it justice. You can see the car shimmying a lot but it is also pretty much doing a wheelie down the flat as it's doing this - the result of extreme rear weighting. ;D I admit we did find some humor in it.

Actually Parrot, If it will make you feel less disappointed, I admit I was laughing (as I am right now thinking back on it), not necessarily at your car. I think Warren's way of describing the play by play was eloquently done & very hilarious. But, what's awesome is that after all that, Nautical Wheeler was faster than my entry Congratulations, Twilight was very strong.

Enrico: The only thing that kept me from laughing out loud was the fact that I couldn't really see what what going on during the feed, but more importantly, the sobering thought that it could just as easily have been my car. You know this gives me an idea -- maybe we should think of some kind of new division for wheelie poppers -- you know kind of a slam dunk type competition where the cars are judged for style in their wheelies, and not for speed. Bonus points would be awarded if you jump a lane and double points if your car jumps back into its original lane. Wouldn't that be a hoot!!!! But seriously, twilight ran well, and now you've found out how far back is too far back when it comes to center of gravity. Talk to you soon. ProQuest/Steve H.

I have been thinking about building a wheelie popper just for kicks. Might have to give it a little more thought now...

Enrico,
It's not in the spirit of this board to make fun of the way someone else's car runs, but we can enjoy the humor in it with the owner of the car.
Like I told you this morning on Yahoo IM, "Nautical Wheeler" looked like it was trying to keep up with the beat of the music on the video. So obviously it was Scott's fault (or his shirt's).
All of us can relate to a poor handling car, but I can't remember anybody else doing it with the style you did.
If you're going to do something, do it in style.

Like I always say "If you can't laugh at yourself, then laugh at somebody else". Enrico Parrot Racing Finally got the video to work on my end, and since you've opened the can of worms I will say that I found myself alternately cringing and smiling at NWs display. In your 2nd heat when he hopped off to the right and ran into the timer bracket, I cringed (reminded me of the time our Car Carrier Semi got wedged under the timer ). In your 5th heat when he came to a stop and then slowly slithered off the track to the left, I smiled (we pretty much feel like running and hiding after a heat with Fred also ). Kind of amazed at the way it hopped off track, then back on track, a couple of times, too. Gotta take the levity (pun intended) where you can find it, I guess... Regards, Team Bubba (including one of the boys who watched a little over my shoulder and said "ouch", "cool" and "wow" during the NW show).

Enrico, I very much can relate to NW's journey this weekend. My son's first car in scouts did the shimmy/shimmy down the track. The pack's track was an ancient wooden track with very rough joints. Our car would shimmy from side to side until it hit the joints...then it would pop the front wheels. I was so embarrassed, and wanted to hide, but my son thought it was the greatest thing to see it pop the wheels. After seeing him cheer and laugh, I realized as long as he was having a great time, I should join in too.
Don't beat yourself up too much...there is always next month. It takes REAL talent to align a car to perform tricks along the track. At least you/we learned that combination (heavily rear weighted) may not be the best for speed, but is great for popping wheelies and changing lanes. Take care.

What happened? All I know is there was a wheelie performed on the PWD track
