We have had a nice little break. Now we are getting into the fall and the racing is going to be even better as guys try to make it into the finals. Will we see any surprises at this months race?
Don't forget to get the cars ready as Sept 29th is coming fast!

Hi Evo, Will you stick to the National Championship date that is posted? Murph will try to get some little cars over there. Murph

B, You are getting a little fast with that Hot Rod. "One Fast Kid" looked at your time and was a tad concerned. I told him not to worry. If B or anyone gets down to that time, they definately have earned that recognition. Murph SLT

All the dates are firm this season. I have made arragements that the races happen with or without me there, that being said I will be at every race unless forced to work. That is the great part about what PWDRacing is offering. The races are held each month on the scheduled days.

I have to say this that unless the participation in the races improves the shop might have to close. If that happens then how the races are run and where they are run at will have to change. Those that are able to participate and have been choosing not to, may find that at the end of the season they have no place to race or have to race with another group. The shop is a great place as you feel free to walk about and the space is very large. This also helps those that proxy race as there are not people close to the track blocking view, causing vibrations, and noise.

Murph,
My post was not directed at you at all. I just want people to understand that without racers that the shop can not be supported any longer. Mr. Slick, Spacewalker, and myself have both personally been supporting PWDR to keep the shop open. I do not know about Mr. Slick and Spacewalker, but I can no longer afford to pay for my cars and add money to help keep the shop open.
I will break down a list for items that are paid for each month to give people an idea of the expenses.
Rent- Electric- $100-125 Gas- $100-150 Internet-$100 consistant Repairs- $25-100 Water- $30 consistant

Evo, Don't give up. Never give up. Hell, I thought I was going to be out of a job and I lasted till I found what I wanted. I stayed focused and came up with a plan.
I want to race at PWDR. I bleed PWDR.
In short, I need a place to race at least 1/2 part of the year. If we have to improvise to a basement, we go. We cannot think defeat. We only think progression. We are leaders in this sport and we are smokin' fast.
Ok, I will shut-up with my motivational speeches. Murph SLT

Murph,
I love your passion for PWDR and derby racing. There has been a few guys that I have admired in this hobby and you are one of them. You, DaPine, Spacewalker, Pro Quest, Casmier, Lucky, Shadetree, and several others are guys that I have always admired. All for different reasons, but each one of you have always had a passion for derby racing.
PWDR is strong and we will be racing next season. What remains to be seen is if we will be in the current shop. We have 3000 sq ft currently and at way below what it should cost. Our monthly bills come to around $850, each and every month. I have been fielding 7+ cars each month and Spacewalker has been doing the same. We do not want to do this, but do it to keep the league in the current shop. Warren has also been donating money to help off set costs each month.
The question is do guys like the shop the way it is? If we started holding races in someones basement would guys be ok with that? This would cut costs, but would also make the space tighter. I personally do not have the room in my basement for the league track, so if we went to this someone else would have to host the races. Do guys want me to continue to host the races or do we want someone else to start hosting the races? I welcome everyones honest responses. Please feel free to either PM me or post responses to this thread. If we do not know that peoples thoughts are it is hard to make sure the league is heading in the proper direction.

Guys, I have been fielding 6 to 12 cars every month since Lucky/ Evo took over this league, I guess maybe I should have fielded more.... ?
I have room in my basement to house a league/ track.

Cash,
I forgot to add your name to the list of people that have been fielding lots of cars. I know you and I have talked about it before and how hard it is to keep fielding all these cars.
I know that I was going to talk more with you about the option of you or the boys hosting the races this month. I am making sure people know that the few guys that keep fielding large amount of cars each month are having a hard time doing it.

I only started racing last month. I'm very happy with the way things are now, but I certainly understand if you have to find ways to cut expenses. There's a good thing going on here and I'm glad to be part of it.
Since I only have one car so far, I'll be racing my Mills Craft as both Stock and Pro Stock. It won't be the fastest thing on the track, but I would like to see if the changes i made to it will improve the time over last month.
For those of us who are relatively new and can't send in a lot of cars (yet), maybe we should think about entering them in more than one division if they fit the rules.
