Brady, I am a bit confused on the cut head on the right rear axle?... Pardon my newbieness, but why is your rear axle adjustable/tunable? I always cut the right front (DFW) to steer to the rail....hmmmm

Brady, I am a bit confused on the cut head on the right rear axle?... Pardon my newbieness, but why is your rear axle adjustable/tunable? I always cut the right front (DFW) to steer to the rail....hmmmm 2 reasons... You can always tune on your rear axles and find speed. Also, if he bent the nails for cant in the rear, you need to be able to adjust them.

When running aftermarket axles, such as Jewkes 91's, some don't worry about the rears much, as they are perfectly machined straight. However this car is a scout car right now and is running BSA axles. They are never straight and when finished properly are actually oval. By putting a k-house groove in them, you can find speed by tuning the rears also.
These axles aren't bent, but like steepslope said, if you are using the bent method, you definitely HAVE to be able to adjust them to get it tuned correctly.

Districts was last Saturday. My son took 2nd with a 2.9046. 1st place was 2.9011. All times were on a "very fast" 42 ft best track. We just found out today there will be a council race, but the bad news is that it's next weekend! Not as much time as I'd hoped to prep, but we'll give it one more shot. There was an interesting change of events this year: Race Objective is to determine the fastest 5 cars in the Greater Cleveland Council. The race will be run based on times & not rank. It should make for for some fun racing. Max car count will be 96 cars, they will all race at the same time. ;D
