While we were working on the Regular F.R.E.D. car (a replica of the 1973 Bubbamobile as seen in our avatar), we got to thinking about some of the techniques we learned from the Semi races this Summer... This model is a "build up" rather than a "carve out", which makes it easier for us to add some fun features like a hood and trunk ;D Considering adding a spare tire to the trunk, and maybe some running boards... Who knows... Please note that we have 2 more F.R.E.D. kits, not sure what we'll do with those yet. We did reverse the axle slots on Super F.R.E.D., if you can't beat 'em join 'em I guess... Bubba p.s. Did you order your F.R.E.D. kit(s) yet??? They are an excellent Christmas Gift / Stocking Stuffer.

Very Very Cool The up-side-down axle blocks.....lowers the weight & lessens the side to side shimmy. Thanks for the tip.

The up-side-down axle blocks.....lowers the weight & lessens the side to side shimmy. Thanks for the tip. Between you, me, and the wall, I think (not at home now or I'd check) that's the way they appear in the instructions. It's also the way they were installed by Grandpa on our Avatar car, I'll have to ask him if he did that on purpose or not. He's a sharp guy, that Grandpa. Anyway, now that they're all mounted nice and solid, I'll be careful when I drill to ensure I stay up high on the axle blocks instead of drilling new holes near the bottom, for the reasons you mentioned above. Thanks for the tip - back to you... Bubba p.s. I still have the can of original "Secret Lube" (Lock-eze brand graphite suspended in fluid that eventually evaporates) that Grandpa used... Might have to give it a try for nostalgia sake. If the old stuff is bad, I did see some new bottles at the Ace Hardware that just opened 4 miles from our house ;D

No flames anyway... Bubba p.s. I'm not up to anything sneaky with the axles sticking out... I'm just not there yet
