The Sept. race is looking to be a great one. It looks like we will have a large turn out of cars if the guys that say they are building new cars complete them and everyone that said they are in for the race mails their cars.
Anyone that is having a contest for the Sept race , please post the info about it in this thread.
That being said Derby Evolution will be holding a drawing this month. The winner will receive a large prize pack of Derby Evolution products. Included in this prize package will be a custom drilled laser cut body (this one is not on the site), a set of the new pro pure stockers, stencils, and many other things. This will be a very nice prize package. To be entered in the drawing you must enter at least one car in the race.

OK, I am a strong supporter of PWDR and my old buddy Evo so here we go.... I will put up three race prepped Limited wheels on the block for this month's race. I will have to cut and prep next week so you will be waiting a bit. Here is the catch. You must race a limited car in this month's race. If you want to enter the contest to win these race prepped wheels, please input your response in this thread to why you should win these wheels. The most creative and/or funny post will win the wheels. Pretty simple, correct? Here is another opportunity. If you should win the contest and beat my fastest car in the limited class (6 run avg), I will throw in three more unprepared wheels that will be cut for the rules of the class. I will choose who won the wheels the day of the race once Evo tells me the chosen racer does indeed have a car in the Limited Race. Let the fun begin boys.

Note: These are good wheels cut on our new lathe at work. The bore prep will be wax. It will be the same bore prep that SLT-1.2 ran 2.906 seconds (single run) last month.

Now don't get me wrong, cuz I'm all for these giveaways, and I'm not trying to tell anyone how to run their stuff, but if someone gave away some wheels for one class based on cars in another class maybe it would draw those people into racing in the other class. Just throwing that out there... Not that I'm looking to try my hand at other classes or anything... Did that come across okay? ;D

To be entered in the drawing you must enter at least one car in the race. do we get one chance per car entered?

Steve for me to keep this simple and it will be one entry person. All someone needs to do is have a car entered into the race to be entered into the drawing.

OK Murph, Let me give this a try ;D Remember extra points for me going first I am so tired of trying my waxes. I keep trying Turtle Wax and the name speaks for itself. I had a couple of snails in the basement laughing at my last limited going down the track. They said " slow and steady works great in a fairy tale, but MOVE IT BUSTER. Got places to go, snails to see!" So I went all in and ordered me some ENERGY BLASTER 3000 off the tv. I figure if it could cure all of that stuff and work like 12 cups of coffee like they said it would, it should cure my limited cars' ails and I would be flyin'. It melted the wheels and the wood itself. I took it to mean the car was just bad and had no hope. Now I am lost. No hope. If, only if, I had a set of your wheels:

Murph, hear we go.....just wanted to make sure my limited made it to the post office. Should be there by mid pm on Friday. I could say you should sent me the wheels because: I have a daughter at an all private college with a $33,500/yr price ticket just to walk on campus or The fact she was involved in an accident July 1,2011 (fortunately not hurt) and totaled her mom's car. Now we are 1-car short and additional insurance premiums or I have a senior in high school who drives a truck at 10mi/gallon and will have no chance of getting scholarships to attend college or The fact I work as a salary employee with no overtime available or I'm going thru a major job merger with Duke Power and not sure if I will have a job next year or My wife lost her state job in June due to budget cuts...or The fact I'm surrounded by some very fast local builders (Carolina, Shade, and SG3) and I'm getting further behind in speed or I have purchased since 2005 almost every major vendor of wheels with limited success or I promise not to mismatch your wheels with the other vendors as I have in the past. They would remain together and would not become orphans or I was one of first to openly admit on forum I used astroglide as a pinewood derby lubricate or used bounty fabric softener sheets as a bore treatment... But the REAL reason is..... My wife wants to give them to me as an anniversary present this weekend! Good luck this weekend to all! Ed

Murph,
I know I don't have any say in who gets the wheels, but Hotrod does put up a good arguement for him getting the wheels. He was the first to admit using certain products on the forum!!!! LMAO!

Thanks Murph.
I never remember my wife's and I's anniversary anymore. It's 9/10.
Only thing that saves me is she forgets too.

Murph, thanks for the congrats on the anniversary and the WHEELS....I'm really looking forward to using them.
Dont be a stranger to the races. I have found for me I enjoy just running the cars. I'm do not have time at this time in my life to run for points or every month so I run them when I can. The only problem is you can get left behind in the speed movement. I'm living it and have for sometime. Your energy, knowledge, and ability to push the envelope will be missed at the races. THANKS again.
Ed

You are welcome Ed and Rich. I was working in my garage today. Put two of my motorcycles up for sale today. Trimmed some of the landscape. Took family to Cub Scout Fishing Derby.
I am trying to set up my garage for PWD R&D and motorcycle restoration. Honestly, most of us really don't know what is going on with respect to the basic fundamentals of axle loading, boundary layers, and optimal lubrication (thin or fluid). I am going to keep working on this area when time permits.
Send me your address by sending me a message. I am on the road starting tomorrow and will probably cut those wheels next Friday when I get back. Rock on, Murph

Hey Guys, Hope you are all doing well. I am late in getting wheels and some other stuff out to the racers that I promised them to. Right now, I have five sets of wheels to cut. I am very sorry in the delay. I have been on the road and work has been literally hell as of late. I am going to try to get them done this weekend. I would prefer to cut them at work where I have better calipers and tooling. Just need to get back to home base! Thanks! Murph
