Guys, I had a great night tonight and never touched a car of mine. I had a friend and his son over off and on for the last few weeks building their new cars. I pointed them in the right direction as to building the cars, but stayed hands off. Well tonight they finished them and wanted to tune them.
They tuned and tuned on them. They were both fast cars and should be proud of their builds. Afer tuning they decided they needed to have a run off to compare the cars. They lined then up and the results were in. In all the races less then 3 thousands was the difference. Neither could open up the gap on the other. Race after race they were so close with a tie to boot.
Both my friend and his son walked away so happy. These were the best cars they have built. They were happy to know that neither was clear winner. It was all fun and I invited them to build more cars and race their hearts out.
I just wanted to share the story of my night. Hope you enjoyed!

Great story evo. It's great when a father and son can share an expierence like this with one another. It's also great that the dad and son have a friend like you to help them out. Thats what PWD is all about Nice job bud! Ian

Now that's a story I like to hear. It makes up for all those "bad" PWD moments that some of us may have put into perspective. I'm sure it will be one of those memories that they will share for a long time.

Great story Evolution!
When you race in the leagues and its so very competitive, sometimes you can forget how much you have to offer someone in the local races. I second Goat's comments in that is exactly what PWD is all about. Its great to see parents getting involved like they should and props to you for helping! Let us know how they do in the races.

I believe they will be racing these at the Indiana State Museum this coming weekend. I did not ask them if that is what they were going to do with them. I know that our pack will be haing a fun race in May, maybe they were for that.

Good Deal!
Sounds like things really can work out . . . now, how do I get that type of involvement in the regional/national races rather then the "cut throat competition" that is the majority expectation?

Well I am going to the race in Indy with them. We are going to have a blast. We are all hoping to do well, but the most important thing for us is that it be fun.
My friend and his son come over often and hang out. We play with pinewood cars sometimes, sometimes we play video games. I have invited at least 4 childs to go with us this coming weekend. I make some calls to the museum and found out that they might be putting on some programs to obtain adancement while there.
It should be a great time and once I get home I hope to have some pictures to post.

Oh ya, I forgot I come here for my cut throat competition. LOL!!!
I of course am kidding. The competition is tough here, but cut throat I would not call it. Lucky is willing to share everything he knows and willing to loan his time and track to help me. Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob and of course Steve are always willing to help, LOL.
The guys here are great and I always willing to help.
