Well, the 2008 season is over. Now it's time to concentrate on Scout Derbies. ;D Man, almost two months without being on the track with you guys is going to be hard. Can't wait till Feb. ;D I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Warren for what he does with this league. You have given me and many others a place to come and play with toy cars and be around other "Adult Kids" with the same fascination with PWD. Warren, you truly do an AWESOME JOB with the league. ;D Thank You! I also wanted to thank Lucky for all he does with the forum. You do an AWESOME JOB with the post of car pics and Top 3 cars and everything else you do to make this thing go. Thank You! ;D And to all my fellow racers, thank you for the competition, without it, I wouldn't have gotten faster this year. I have made allot of new friends this year, gotten allot of help from faster racers than me, and hope those freindships last along time into the future. Good Luck to all of you and hope to see you on the track soon. ;D See ya Scott Beakerboys

I'll be the first to second what Scott said:
Thanks to Warren for giving so generously of his time and infinite goodwill and energy. While we are all racking our brains over how to make our cars go faster, he is racking his brain over how to make the races better for us. None of this would be possible without him.
Next, Lucky. Talk about energy. If you have any doubt as to Lucky's commitment to making this league great, just check the times on some of his posts. He's up at all hours posting pictures, updating results, working on rules, videos, etc. In addition to being one of our top builders, he is always willing to help out those in need -- whether it's a speed tip or something more tangible, Lucky is there for us.
I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say to both Warren and Lucky, I can't thank you enough for all you have done to make PWDR a blast for the racers.
To everyone who races here, it has been a great pleasure and honor racing with you over the past 12 months. Through our friendly competitions we all push and challenge one another, and continually test the limits of what is possible, and consequently we build strong friendships and faster and faster pinewood derby cars. And friendship and fast pinewood derby cars is what league racing all about.
Looking forward to a great 2009,
Steve H.

I would like to be the second to second what Scott said:
It seems like every month Warren is trying something new to make the races more enjoyable for the rest of us. Thank for all you have done for us.
Lucky has been the leagues biggest promoter for the last couple of years, and if that wasn't enough, he has started doing a fantastic job on the boards of posting the "Top 3", "Record Holders" (current and past), "Car Photos", "Points", and several other things that I'm sure I forgot.
Yesterday before the race I asked him if it would be possible to change the board from showing the previous 20 posts to 40, and 2 minutes later it was done. Thanks Bob for all you do.
Lastly, the races would be nothing without all the guys that race, chat, share their tips, and most of all become friends.
THANK YOU ALL!!!!!
Phil

I would also like to thank Warren and his crew for all they do to make this league great!
Sorry I missed this month's race but I decided to take this month off so I can get ready for 2009. I've got eight cars to build before the end of January! (Four league cars, two RA cars, and two GA cars I'm helping build.) CONGRATS ON THE DIVISION WINNERS AND TO PROQUEST FOR THE OVERALL TITLE!
I'm looking forward to the 2009 season, I've got a track now so I'm hoping I'll be more competitive! Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Thank you to everyone for the compliments !! When the 2007 season ended, and Scott decided to "retire" from racing, I knew there would be a huge void here at PWDR and I asked Warren if I could step in and help. I found out really quick that there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to make this league the huge success that it is. I'm sure at times I've drove Warren up the wall with the hundreds of questions and "how-to" I've asked him over the last year. I appreciate all the help he has given me and I think we have finally got a good routine down, which makes things go smooth each month with results, photos, records and such. The truth of the matter is Warren is really the man that does the actually work around here (track-set up, tear down, transportation, unpacking cars, packing cars, shipping, etc..). I just sit at my computer, type, and copy and paste ;D !! Personally I think PWDR is the best league around and if I didn't, I wouldn't spend the time and effort to do the things I do. It's not a perfect place and it may not be the flashiest, but the group of racers that compete here and the environment is second to none in my opinion. I've been here since day one and plan on racing here for as long as Warren and everyone else continues to give it a go. I've seen this league continually grow from the very first race in 2007 and it amazes me to see how far it has come in two years. We have picked up an absolutely great group of racers during that time who are enthusiastic, helpful, willing to share, willing to learn and fun to hang out with and be around. Many of you have become great friends to me and I enjoy talking pinewood derby racing, building and other things outside of PWDR to you. Thank you for the friendships !! If the December race was a glimpse of how the 2009 season is going to be, then I think we are in for a year of some of the closest racing PWDR has ever seen. The racers here keep getting faster and faster and I really think it has to do with the knowledge that is so freely shared here. If we continue helping each other out and especially the new guys nothing but good will come from it !! I'm looking forward to a great new season of racing in 2009 and again thank everyone for all their continued support of PWDR !! I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year !!
