Happy Birthday Bubba! Fyi my son Max calls you "the cool car guy" and has asked "dad, why can't you build cool cars like that Bubba guy???" Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know... the Emperor has no clothes. I wanna be you when I grow up! ;D

Happy Birthday Bubba! Fyi my son Max calls you "the cool car guy" and has asked "dad, why can't you build cool cars like that Bubba guy???" Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know... the Emperor has no clothes. I wanna be you when I grow up! ;D Tell Max I said "Thanks!". As much as I appreciate the feedback (positive or corrective) from you old(er) guys, it's really cool to get a big thumbs up from Max and his contemporaries. Let me know if he likes any car in particular, and I'll see if I have any in-process pics. But I gotta be honest with you, most of my better ideas came either from somebody on the boards or from one of my own kids. I just try to put the ideas to the wood, so to speak. Bubba p.s. As for me, I'm not sure what I wanna be when I grow up .....probably just that "cool old grandpa car guy".

Max and I both have perused the build pics of your PDDR "Slammer" cars and they are really FUN cars! It's obvious you love to build cars, and that's something I certainly can relate to... it seems like you build a new slammer for every race! You've really gotten me in trouble with Max because after following your pickup truck build progress via your posts, Max keeps asking "Dad, when can we build our pickup truck?" and "Dad, when's the pickup truck race"... I tell him I think it's in November and he says "well what are we waiting for!?!" So count us in for the Truck race whenever it is (and thank you Mrs. Slick for you know what!!!). Max really loves the cars that look like cars... I think the novelty of thin wedges has somewhat lost its luster to Max... and many of your cars really embody the "real car" concept. I'm greatful that when we get around to building our pickup truck we'll be much better better prepared than we would have been thanks to your sharing with everyone your recent pickup build pics. Max's favorites are your/your sons Lightning McQueen and "The King" cars plus your 53 Ford (his favorite movie of all time is "Cars." But I've gotta tell ya... you're a hard act to follow/live up to! LOL! I think Max might want to at least trade Dad's temporarily every once in a while sometimes 'cause you make cooler cars than I do... good motivation to get started on our Pickup!!! Steve B.

Hey Bubba! I didn't know it was your Birthday either! Did you know that some of the best pinewood derby car builders have July Birthdays?
It's a Fact!
(No offense to anyone not born in the best month of the year ;D)
Happy Birthday!!!
