I have developed the ‘Grand Prix Tracker’ software and hardware complete Timer package. This package will electronically track all the timing for a pinewood car derby race event along with all the data tracking of each participant in the race throughout the event. This is done in a Windows environment, not DOS. All aspects of the ‘race event’ are saved and shown in several different reports. There are several options and settings that can be made for the race scenario chosen. A Real-Time flowchart can be viewed or printed showing: Current Heat participants, Car #, Who's on deck, Lane colors. The hardware consists of a Track Tower that uses photo sensors that are triggered when the light beam is broken by the race car. Up to four lanes can be monitored with status lights providing conditions of the software and hardware in ‘real-time’. The races are measured within one thousandths of a second (1/1000). The race tower is custom made to fit any size track up to four lanes. All race times are displayed on your computers Monitor in large detail and can also ( if your computer has the functions) be presented on a wide screen or projector. The ‘Interface Board’ is plugged into any USB port ( not a serial or parallel port). This product can be purchased 'fully assembled' or as a ‘build yourself’ project!
