My boys did it again. They went one and two for the pack championships. I am real proud of them as well as all the boys in the pack. They worked real hard this year at the workshops and the race went real well(my first one running it) with only a few problems. Here are some pics: Thought it would be cool to intro each den with some walking music and have the boys appear from behind the curtain thru the smoke as their names were called. They thought it was real cool! I played Eye of the Tiger, Who let the Dogs out, Bad to the Bone, Let the bodies hit the floor, and Sharp Dressed Man for the tigers, wolves, bears, Web. 1, and Web. 2s. Here's the new track. The CubMaster trying to steal the trophies. That's yours truly behind the mic calling the race, though I don't do near as good of a job as Warren. The trophies. CougarDog was our official starter. He staged 145 heats for almost 600 cars! Some racing action. The crowd. And the winners.Tristans first in Weblos 1. How about the cool stand one of the scouts made for the cars. i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll47/beakerboysracing/GS010145.jpg[/IMG]Chandlers first in wolves. And the Grand finalist winners, Chandler first and Tristan second and Patrick third! District here we come! Scott Beakerboys

Two thumbs up for you Beak Makes me wish my boys weren't grown young men with their own families. Enjoy the moment, it seems to slip away so fast... Lee

OMG! Thats awesome! Whats so funny is I have the exact same thing planned for our pack and district race this year! I'm planning on having the boys stage in the next room, and introduce each one with music and a fog machine! Did you have each scout pick a "nickname" when they registered their cars, I'm planning on that, think the kids will get a kick outta having their own nickname announced! I'm also gonna display the scouts name and nickname up on the big screen projector while they are getting introduced! Its tough finding a bunch of different songs to play as they really should be appropriate for the event.
It so flippn cool to see that you guys did the same thing at it was a huge hit!
Congrats to your boys for again dominating the day! The smile on kids faces after they win is definitely something a parent will NEVER forget!

Scott, Way to Go! We all know how good it is to win a race, but isn't it even more rewarding to help everyone else enjoy the day by making the event memorable? You did just that! Congrats on a deed well done. It looked like you guys really had a blast! Quesiton: Did CougarDog have any cars racing that day? Sapp

Scott, Question: Did CougarDog have any cars racing that day? Sapp Doug, No racing for me. I was just there to help. Scott did a good job calling the race... Although I could have done without the singing. Buddy needs to hang on to that tool truck! M$

Got some more pics of the race. Cubmaster giving out trophies. It was a long day racing. There's Cougar Dog again. Setting up. The track. Next year we may run it under the lights. Setting up the PA system. Getting the boys ready for intros. My view of the race. The crowd as the race is on! Some scouts getting their trophies. Smokin! "did my car just win?" "man hurry up with the results, I want to know if I won!" "man this is so cool" "leave me alone little sister, I'm watching my car race" My voice gave out by the end of the day. CYA Scott Beakerboys

Wow, that is awesome!!! I wish that my son was in your pack! What a neat day for the boys. Our pack does not really get into the PWD. It seems more obligatory then enthusiastic where we live. I love the lights and smoke and that is an awesome track!!!

Dang Scott, you need to come over to our Pack and show them how to run a race !! That is one fantastic job you guys did !!
My vote for favorite picture has to be the one of CougarDog sitting in the chair starting the races !! We need to come up with a caption for it !! lol !!

Here are my ideas for the caption contest. Before Cars are Started Photo Caption(confused look?): I found the gear lever, but where is the clutch pedal? After Cars are Started Caption(smiling): I have set you free! Race little cars, RACE!
