I have seen the pictures of all the great cars and the paint jobs that just can't be beat. Now I need some ideas. My son's last year of Cub Scouts is almost over and Pinewood is only a week away. I dreamed this car up for our parents race, but now that I've got the red on it, I'm stuck with no ideas for what to do next to the paint. I bought a basic air brush to try this year and have failed completely. I thought about using some of the Derby Docs stencils I got last year, but none of them look right, or they are the wrong size. Please give me some ideas. Thanks in advance. DASComp51

Dascomp51,
Nice looking car !! My suggestion would be a 2 tone paint job. Mask the car off at the top body line and paint the bottom half a different color. Maybe a black bottom with a small white strip dividing the black and red ? or a white bottom with a black strip dividing the white and red ?

Maybe even have the come to the back of the car an transform into flames over the weight canopy. Nothing extreme, just subtle. Scott Beakerboys

Please give me some ideas. Thanks in advance. DASComp51 Very nice lookin car you have going on there DasComp51Heres an idea to look at ..... Race car style just like Beaker mentioned there is nothing like a Racing Stripe.... Numbers, names and windows make great add-ons for a dramatic real race car look...

WOW! I like that idea. . . I have no idea of how to do it with my abilities - but I really like it!
I was thinking navy blue wings/fenders with white sides.

These ideas just blow me away. I'm not sure my skill level will allow me to do anything like what A1nogoslo came up with, but the picture is just incredible. Now I have some ideas and I will post a follow up to show you all how it came out. BTW, thanks for the compliments. I have made some UGLY cars, but now I want to try to step up my game. I am hoping to send in some cars this year, so I feel like I need to at least make the cars look good, even if they aren't going to run fast. We will just have to see how it goes. David DASComp51
