Hey, does anyone know of a 3-lane Best Track and timer I can borrow? The Pack needs their's back and I would really like to be able to continue using the same set-up as the other leagues and not have to use the 6-lane Challenger track.
I don't have a bunch of cash right now but I do have lots of upcoming races for local groups which I do on a freewill donation basis so I will have money for a track & timer by the end of February. . .

Hey Warren, I think all of us in this racing community can come together to help PWD. We all appreciate your commitment and Im willing to start a donation fund for a track. Ill start it off with $30. If some of the guys will do the same, whether its $5 or $50, then I think the problem will be solved. You do a great job, and I think everyone realizes that. Would it be okay to do that?

Sounds like mostly a cash flow issue (we all have them from time to time). You could also offer folks the opportunity to pre-pay some 1st Quarter entry fees in addition to donations. I'll wrestle the checkbook away from Mrs. Bubba tonight and send you a combined donation / pre-pay check. Bubba

OK, I got afew minutes to try and catch up. . . been a very busy week - sorry about not being around except for a minute now and then. I'll check with the vendors to see what we can get figured out. . . I noticed that BestTrack lists two other leagues but not PwdRacing. . . .? And they have a "Lift Kit" that looks like it would be nice for a youth race.

UPDATE: The track vendor has been contacted and we have a target amount. The timer vendor hasn't yet been followed up with to finalize things but I believe that it will be good news when done. DONATIONS: Boy Scout Troop 205 has agreed to accept donations /payments for our efforts. This way you can take the tax deduction and I will feel better about having an independent treasurer to keep the funds separate. Currently I am targeting $1,100 or so. PROXY PRE-PAY: If you would like to pre-pay for some proxy races I will get you a Proxy Ticket/Certificate that you can use at any time in lieu of an entry fee. Pre-pays will be $10 each -- a $2.00 discount if used for a first car. If you would like to get Pre-pay credits please contact me or if you use the On-Line Registration via Pay-Pal enter "Pre-Pay" as the car name. (Pick the $10 entry fee ones) I will also transfer funds to the troop account that are donated via the On-Line Registration page in the donation area. The address for check donations payable to "BSA Troop 205": Troop 205 %Bob Larson 14669 Harrington Place Apple Valley, MN 55124-7455 Just identify it as for PwdRacing. PLEASE send me a PM or e-mail about the donations so I can keep up with things. Thanks Everyone! BTW - PwdRacing has helped others this last year. Here are some of the things YOU have accomplished: Adult Leader had the time to allow a high adventure trip proceed but not the full fees. We made up the difference so the winter campout on the Canadian border for the 12 boys was possible. Pinewood Derby Awards for a District that did not have any budget for awards. and a few youth camperships to things like summer camp and the winter high adventure campout. and bunches of supplies for the Pinewood Derby Workshops that I put on for kids to build their own cars! ;D (see X-mas list thread for the details. . . ) Thanks again for all that YOU have done!

Sounds good Warren !! Glad to see the money from PWD going to support so many good things !! For those of you that don't know this is Warrens 13th year of supporting Pinewood Derby races/workshops. If you ever get a chance to see his schedule, you'd be amazed. I have a hard time running 1 Scout race a year, let alone the amount Warren does. Hope you have a "Lucky 13th" year ;D !!!

Ok, in an effort to "adjust" the cash flow. . . Pre-Paid Race Registration Coupons available for $10! You save $2.00 on the initial car entry. You can either send a check to "Troop 205"(see above) and get it as a donation to the Boy Scouts or you can do it on-line. I have updated the on-line kit ordering and registration page. There are still FRED kits, FRED extra wheels, and BIG RIG kits available. Check it out! www.pwdracing.com/racereg.htmlMy goal is to be able to order the track/timer real soon so that I can get it assembled and prepped. Thanks and have a Merry Christmas!

Warren:
Can you keep us posted on how much more money is needed for the track and timer. I'm thinking -- kinda like the Jerry Lewis telethon, you can post running totals from time-to-time (say daily). I just bought 20 Pre-Paid Registration Coupons.
Also, I have a suggestion for everyone who plans to buy coupons or donate through troop 205 -- be sure to pm Warren to let him know that you made a purchase or donation and the amount, so that he can keep track (no pun intended).
