Is anyone else experiencing difficulty using this (PWDR) website? Today at work I was having trouble; I could get to the home page fine, but when I would click on a topic, the new page would load and display for about 1 second and then the home page would display again. This was driving me nuts... I finally determined that if I right clicked on a link, and hit "open in new window" I could get the new link/page to properly display. This pretty much went on all day, yet all other web sites were working fine. I figured something must be goofy with my laptop (at work). When I got home this evening, I logged on to the PWDR discussion board and sent a few PM's, ate dinner, and then about 30 minutes ago I started having the same exact issues I was having at work on that computer... I could access the home page but every time I'd hit a link to read a thread, the thread would appear for 1 second and then the home page would reappear. I tried right clicking on links and "open in new window" but the new window would only open to the PWDR discussion board home page. Crazy! So I logged on with my Ipod Touch (Safari browser) and everything worked fine. So I came back to this computer to try to post this message, and no matter what I did I could not get away from the home page for more than 1 second. So I logged off of my accoung (running Windows XP and using IE as a browser) and just logged on to my daughters account, and voila, I was able to make this post. Has anyone every experienced anything like what I'm describing? I never have (and I surf the web a lot), and it seems odd that this would happen to me in two different places on two different computers. Maybe the software running this board is sick and tired of my verbose posts???

I am not aware of any changes to the configuration of the PwdRacing discussion board. . . .
Is your account that works using the same browser?

I am not aware of any changes to the configuration of the PwdRacing discussion board. . . . Is your account that works using the same browser? Yup, internet explorer. This is the oddest thing I have ever experienced using IE before. It worked fine at work for quite a while before I started having the problem... I even deleted all cookies and temporary files, and that didn't seem to help. I even rebooted the computer. I finally gave up late this afternoon. Tonight logging on from this computer at home, all worked fine for a while, and then the same exact thing happened. I'm now logged on as my daughter and it's working fine again. Very puzzling. I may be the only person having this issue... but it's hard to imagine the same thing happening on two computers in two different places? The only commonality is I've been kept the site up and running in a window for quite a while both times (and doing other stuff on the computer while this window was open in the background).

Steve,
I had something similar happen a couple of times when I left it up and running for a while. What actually cleared it was running both Spybot SD, and Adaware SE, both free anti-spyware software packages. It sounds like it's a tracking program.

Steve's, I was having the same problem. Was even using a "fresh" computer that recently ran a recovery. If it was trackinng or spyware I think it is something that needs to be looked into.

1. Close browser 2. reopen browser 3. type board address in your browser address bar, but leave out the number - e.g. pwdracing.proboards.comIt may have something to do with the September 2008 Microsoft Windows Update. . . . but doubtful -- more likely the adds. I'm having no problems but I use Mozilla FireFox. . . .

Thinking that it may be related to the ads, I forked over the $7 for the ad free version. It will be ad free for the rest of the month of October.
PLEASE REPLY IF THIS SOLVES THE PROBLEM.
We went "Ad Free" at about 7:30AM Thursday October 9th.

Warren, I just sent you a PM as well, but I just got back to my office and the board seems to be working fine for me on the original laptop on which I was having the issues. I did not run any antivirus nor Spybot nor AdAware on this computer... the change you made (or that proboards made if any) seems to have corrected the problem. For what it's worth, I did run my antivirus, Spybot and AdAware on my home computer last night and they all turned up nothing suspicious whatsoever other than fairly innocuous? cookies... I have only had one computer virus/malware infection in all my years (and I play with computers quite a bit/I'm pretty careful about stuff like this), and that was from a gaming web site Max was playing on. So far the world seems back to normal, and it doesn't seem as if there was any nasty bugs causing the problem. It does sound as if Proboards is encountering similar issues on a great many of their boards (I'm just glad I wasn't the problem... I figured the powers that be must have gotten sick of my loquaciousness and I'd worn out my welcome! ) Slow

FYI I just tried to look at the PDDR website, and I had the exact same problem accessing PDDR as I did accessing PWDR yesterday. I was only able to view a post/thread by right clicking on the thread title/header and clicking "Open in new window."
The link I was finally able to read by doing the above referenced the problems Proboards is having system-wide.
It sounds as if Warren's fix of going with the banner free/sponsorless version of Proboards (or whatever he did) helped remedy the situation here
Even when I had the issues using IE, I was always able to access the board on my Ipod Touch as well as on my Blackberry; I think this is only a problem for those of us running IE (Windows Internet Explorer)... mozilla/firefox/safari all seem to work fine.

Had the same problem with this and several other boards. Have not tried PDDR, but all the others seem to be working fine now.

Proboards is correcting a "DoS attack" (Denial of Service) Seems most venerable to IE platforms.
Firefox & Mozilla haven't been effected.... so far
I deleted my desktop shortcut. Then typed in the PWDR address and seems to have corrected the redirect loop. Then placed a new shortcut on my desktop.
