The race is the same as usual with a BIG difference. . . the BIG RIGS will be having their first race and show! The BIG Race date is October 7th. Bubba, Don't forget to wake up Earl. Phil He'll be there, but unfortunately I don't think we will. I was hoping to make it up there live, but right now it looks about 90% against. We have a new "cargo box" on the way to Scott's house, though, the paint job matches the cab Hopefully it will arrive just in time for the "show" portion. Although if SpeedBuggy's makes it, we'll be in for some tuff competition. Speaking of Earl, I bet he'd like that loop to loop track. I wonder if a "block" comes with it to cover the even lanes. Be kind of a bummer if the cars got put in the wrong lanes at the starting gate.

I put my usual 3 cars in the mail today.
I did make a few very small changes and re lubed them.
Steve, the USPS accepts mail Monday thru Saturday, you don't have to wait til Fri to mail them. Haha.
Any predictions on how many cars and Big Rigs we'll have this weekend???
Are the Big Rigs going to be run with the Proxy Race? I have to watch it.
Good luck to all racers!!!
Phil

Hey Phil:
I just finished tuning Alastor. Tuned Senpai last night. Still have Tabasco and Ichiban to tinker with. Wasabi (no "T") is supposed to be on her way to Scott from last Saturday's WIRL race. At the rate of one car per night, I should get to the post office on Thursday evening leaving me a whole day to spare. I'm getting better. If all goes as planned, I'll have five there on Sunday: two pures (Alastor and Wasabi), one stock (Tabasco), one modified (Senpai) and one pro-mod (Ichiban). Can't wait.
Best of luck to all who take part.

I'm in with the same old stuff. Like Bob said, no time to change things. I take some of it back. I did manage to find some time to work on "Big Kahuna" and get it mailed. See everyone on race day.

We're in with The Fridge and Afterburner. No adjustments, no time, too many honey do's.

Blurr and Wishbone are in the mail. Puffed some fresh graphite into Blurr and never touched Wishbone. Never broke graphite in so Blurr will probably be inconsistent, but hopefully fast. Not sure if I will be able to be online or if I will still be in the duckblind. Robbie is really looking forward to hunting all day. Good Luck to everyone at the races. Bob

Stinger II was mailed today. It will be the only car this month. I basically re-lubed, asked the pinewood angles for a blessing and wrapped it up.
Chili Pepper is still on the jack stands with the rear wheels off. It may be back next month.
Not sure if will be able to get on live feed? Sunday is my birthday and not sure at this time what the family has planned?? Hoping for some cake and ice cream. ;D Good luck to all this Sunday.

Snake Eyes, a very nice looking Pro-Mod from B&B Racing, arrived from NJ.
Packed very well! I am leaving it in the mounts until check-in time (as is the normal practice) so it will be tech'd on Sunday at the race site.

Hey Slick:
Look for my box to arrive by overnight delivery tomorrow. Four cars enclosed, one already there. Didn't think "Tabasco" would make it. I broke an axle off inside the body and couldn't figure out how to get it out. Late last night tried something that worked. Sneaked out of the office today at lunch, found a spare axle laying around (didn't polish, or even check it), then slapped it back together. I wouldn't be surprised if it was way slower than before.
If they all get there in time and in one piece, it'll be a miracle.
Need to build a pro-stock and hotrod to have one in every division -- and a semi (not happenin any time soon). Best of luck to all who take part.
See ya at the races.

And I was looking forward to seeing your flatbed with several big holes in it, maybe 2 for a "scaled up" version of ProQuest I or 3 for a "scaled up" Wasabi. If you made the holes just the right size and tapered the bottom, the rig could serve as a beverage delivery device when you get your test track set up from the kitchen to the living room. Just have Mrs. Steve load your favorite beverage and send it off. Of course, if I set up a test track from our kitchen to our living room I think Mrs. Bubba would send me off instead Looking forward to seeing a ProQuest Hot Rod. Let me know if you need a nice chromey engine. I picked up a couple at Lima similar to the ones that are featured in this car: www.pbase.com/andylester/image/71930579 www.pbase.com/andylester/image/71930609I also have a spare like the one featured in Green T, but it's probably a little big (read blocky and non-aerodynamic) for your tastes. Regards, Bubba

Dang Rick:
With an offer like that, now I HAVE to build a hot rod.
And I like the drink holder/semi idea too. That way I can explain to the Mrs. that its not really pinewood derby its a modern time and energy saving household convenience. Of course that assumes she would even bring me a beverage.
Good luck Bubba, and everyone. Later.
