There has been some discussion by a few builders about canceling or making the September PWD Race an exhibition race on a different track. The main reason is a number of builders are busy getting ready for the Lima Race (myself included) and the numbers will likely be down because of this. Warren has suggested that he would be willing to run an exhibition race on his track for those that would still like to race. Looking for thoughts or suggestions - Thanks! Let us know what you think.

Technically we could consider the Lima Land Open the September PWD race. IMO, I think canceling the proxy race is a good idea.

I like the idea of making the Lima Race the September PWD race; so, just change the date of the normal race to September 22; however, if the shipping address is the same it could be a lot of cars for Scott and Warren to drive to Lima with.
Can't wait for September!

Canceling Sept race is probably not a bad idea because I was thinking about not sending anything anyway. Need to get everything ready for Lima.

OK, I changed the title of the thread to reflect my (our) decision. (and I have even updated/clarified it. . . )The Points race will be held at Lima. All cars racing will get points for the PWD Racing League. The normal conference/video will be used IF there is a high speed internet connection. If no high speed connection the videos and results will be posted as soon as we can. This means that if you want to race a proxy entry it will need to be TO THE PERSON WHO IS VOLUNTEERING TO TAKE CARE OF THE CAR. The earliest I will be leaving is on the 19th for a wondering trip there. I could probably handle 3 or 4 cars.
Contact me directly if you would like to have me take your cars for proxy. I'm not sure when Scott is going to be heading out. He was saying something about working over in the "general area" of Ohio. I WILL be having a race on the 9th but it will be exhibition only -- NO POINTS.

Does this mean that cars raced on 09-09 will not go into the 12 month only point classification? Kinda a test session of sorts?

Since I won't be able to make the race in Lima, would anyone be willing to take my cars there and race them for me? It would be only 2-3 cars at most.

We were there - no other cars. . . worked on the sound system. The race on Saturday was a good event - they even had a chili cooking contest! My favorite was the Bambi Chili.

BTW, I will have room to transport cars/BIG RIGS back after LIMA to save shipping costs for the October race.

The latest update is that there is an internet connection at the fairgrounds. It is from the top of the Grandstand and may be weak to non-existent inside the building where we will be racing. If I can get a connection the races will be available via the normal web-cam and discussion room.
If anyone has a booster/relay station for wi-fi and knows how to get it to work at home maybe we could give it a try. . .
