If everything goes as planned, you'll see "Wasabi" in pure stock, "Smoke" in pure stock, "Tabasco" in stock, and maybe one other -- if I have time to build it from scratch.

I will be sending 3 cars.
For the August race "Grumpy's Toy II" and "Pig Pen" will be sporting brand new beautiful 1 1/2 hour paint jobs. Both of them will be wearing brand new shoes smeared with graphite.
"The Grump" will also be there. He will be wearing the same old shoes with 3 or 4 month old Krytox 100.
Hoping for another record turnout with several new racers this month.

I'll be working on finding a place to hold the races! I was informed that our room reservation was made in error. . . The church is getting ready for their annual Mega-Sale and only 2 rooms are left that will accommodate the track. . . the main sanctuary and the upper fellowship hall. I am a coordinator for the furniture area which has a tent that would work but it won't be up in the parking lot until the weekend of the 18th-19th. . . . I'm thinking that we will be able to set it up down stairs in the main sanctuary building along one of the sides. . . It is the place and network connections that make it a bit more challenging. Wish me luck!

Hey Bubba, "Nautical Wheeler" was overhauled for wirl last week and was not nearly as entertaining, but she was just as slow and "all over the road". Jk, my son loved it also, wanted me to leave it alone so he could see more wheelies.
Phil, when you said she looked like she was dancing to the music, I forgot to tell you the name came from a Jimmy Buffett song "Nautical Wheeler"........."c'mon and dance with me, dance with me nautical wheeler, I want so badly to go...."

Hey JKRacing: I'd love to have ProQuest I running here in Rookie next month, but league policy recommends that after 5 Rookie division wins, the builder graduate to other divisions. Last month happened to by my 5th Rookie Division win, so in deference to the league policy, I'll not be entering the rookie division in the future. Having said that, if "Tail Light" is running in the stock class, she'll have a shot at my stock car "Tabasco." My Pure Stock entries will be "Wasabi" and "Smoke." Since you and I both have a car called "Smoke" we might have to do "rock, paper, scissors" to see which car should keep the name -- otherwise it could be confusing. Just Kidding of Course. There is plenty of room for two "Smokes." . Best of Luck. ProQuest/Steve H. P.s. JK's comment on Nautical Wheeler triggered a thought -- After the last race -- when I first mentioned a "Wheelie" Class (where the cars are judged on style points instead of speed) I was joking. But the more I think about it the more I believe that it could be the highlight of any pinewood derby event -- You'd run one car at a time, two or three runs each depending on how many entries -- and a panel of judges (say 3), would score the cars on a point scale from 1-10. Each judge could even hold up cards displaying the score, like in the Olympics. Ok, so maybe I'm getting a little carried away here. And maybe it would be time consuming and difficult to pull off. But think about it!!!

Hello (again) docb:
Glad to see you really are back. Who/what cars you sending in for the August race?
I JUST fininshed converting "Smoke" from a Stocker to a Limited -- thought I'd never finish her. If Smoke isn't smok'in, I'll be lookin for the nearest cliff to jump off of -- fortunately for me, cliffs in Houston, Texas are hard to come by. But seriously, I'm still using the trial and error method to determine what works. Hopefully, she'll not be an error.
I'd like to build a modified for August, but probably don't have time.
Best of Luck. Later.
ProQuest/Steve H.
