Hey all. Today was the big day. This race started at 9:00am we got home after 4:30. Took al lot of pic's & will post several. "Sappster 01" Second Place in the 10oz open. Ran on RSN needles. Thanks Racer X for all of the tools & tips. Your wheels are Supreme! The car that won first was a good friend of mine- won by a nose!!! thanks derbydoc.com for the parts and flames- you're awesome man! "Saske 03" finished 5th place out of 400+ scout race- allowed light BSA wheels. According to the MC at the race- the delta between the top car and the 10th car was .004 of an aggregate time of 4 runs on a 42' best. I tell you the truth: Every race in the top 6 was a photo finish- the naked eye could not tell. Here's the hardware: And finally: Sappington & Son Additional thanks to: All of the PWD & WIRL Regulars. Will See you guys at the next race

Hey Sappingtonr, Congrats on the 5th place win! That is definitely an accomplishment in that District! It is without a doubt one of the most competitive Districts in the country. In the picture you posted of the trophy I wish you would have hung the racing pit pass so that we could have seen the first place car from last year in your photo. ;D ;D ;D ;D Just kidding. Congrats again, great job! Humvderby

Guys, thanks to everyone for the cheers and back pat's. It's greatly appreciated. I'm really looking forward to more fierce competition here at PWDR and also over at WIRL & will hopefully take our game up a notch! Lucky, to answer your question. The Ultimate race was run on a long track and the times weren't given on the race day- we have to wait until the are posted on the disrict website. I will tell you this: It was all photo finish. We won 5 of 6 heats- lost time on the final due to the fact that the cars were slamming into the plywood box at the end of the stop section. Our needles couldn't hold alignment (nor could anyone elses) on of the cars cracked in the rear section. The yellow car in my picture is the post-race photo. Notice the chip in the front end I will tell you this: In a very rigorous tuning session with a few other cars- it beat the pants off of a very well known league winner, at 5oz, however, our experiments revealed that adding incremental weight up to 10oz's yielded consistent results with diminishing returns the heavier they got. I'm sure it would also vary by body style, but, there is definitely an ideal weight given track set-up, & length. After the race was over. Our FDW was toed out about 30 degrees- amazing that it held as good as it did, definitely a few lessons here! Long story short- it will definitely hang with any 5oz pro-mod anytime, anywhere, any track!
