Awesome! I draw all my parts up in AutoCAD before and then print them to scale, cut them out and use them as a template to fabricate the parts. Exactly what I do! ;D Been using CAD for about 20 years. Just tried to drill a hole through the side of the carbon fiber for the axle, but the drill bit is wandering. Going to have to order a better drill bit. Looking on McMastercarr.

Easier to laminate an aluminum or wood area in the carbon fiber then drill. I just finished this one:

Old Geezer Your carbon fiber car looks like my stock car this month - Crystal Carbon! I used these peel and stick sheets on both the top and bottom.

Please do give needles a go at the PWDR! The PWDR is the only major league having races with needle cars in the nation!

5KidsRacing,
A unique combination of material! What is the thickness of aluminum/metal (.032", .040", 063") wheel attachment for axles?

5KidsRacing, A unique combination of material! What is the thickness of aluminum/metal (.032", .040", 063") wheel attachment for axles? Firenze, It started as 1/8" thick aluminum plate and then I used my drill press, band saw & belt sander to do all the drilling & shaping and then I polished it by hand. I will start working on these cars again in a month or so.... Too many builds not enough time!!! Scott
