I was wondering if anyone can identify the green car on the far right lane? I've seen this car for sale as a kit or complete car on someone's web site but I can't remember where. If anyone knows, let me know. Thanks

It's a kit Jewkes offers. I think it is called Stingray, but not sure on that? You have the picture, if you want to make one. From the looks of your other builds it should be no problem for you to make that simple design!

I think it may be the Viper, but in any case looks like a Jewkes Product.

It appears to be a Jewkes car, but someone could have copied it from pictures.

It appears to be a Jewkes prebuild car, but someone could have copied it from pictures. I agree looks prebuilt and if so is not legal in a scout race or at least all the rules I have read.

)It looks like a copy to me. The back end looks like it has to much wood left on to be jewkes. I have helped scouts copy that design. It makes a good looking car,but not always the fastest. I'm just say'in.....

It is hard to tell if it is either prebuilt or not.

Oh for sure it is either a copy or a prebuilt car. Either way it appears to be nicely made.

I knew I saw it somewhere but I just couldn't remember.
Our rules don't allow kit cars.
I remember picking it up and telling one of the den leaders that this looked like a kit car. The father who apparently built it was standing near by and immediately claimed it wasn't but he said he copied it from a design he saw on line. When he asked where he couldn't remember. I quized him on a couple of other things and kind of got vague answers which raised my suspicions. Now that I looked at the Jewkes picture again it's exactly the same thing. Also, the paint job was extremely well done which made me wonder as well. So I'm fairly certain that it was a Jewkes kit.
However, it is something that I can easily replicate myself so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. However, I'm sure my detail examination probably made him nervous and hopefully give him second thoughts about doing next year. The car also didn't win anything so it's a moot point now.
Not remembering where I saw it was bugging me though. You help me scratch that itch so all is good now.
Thanks

Yes, it does look like the Jewkes viper kit car. However, EVEN if it is you could never prove it cause it's not like the guy is going to let you take the car and hold on to it until you could thoroughly investigate it. Also, that design is so easily replicated that anyone of us could copy it. You also have to remember that there are dads out there (I have met some of them) that really cannot build these cars because they don't have the tools and don't have any knowledge of the subject. I know to US that seems crazy because we all know these cars are not very hard to build but, to others they are hard to build. So in order for those dads to make their sons experience a memorable one, they may have to resort to buying a kit car. However, if your a great builder, your going to beat them no matter what because you have the skill and they do not.
