Well we missed our old Cub Scout Packs pinewood derby in Ohio, but, we made it down here in time to participate in our new Packs race. It is this coming Tuesday night and then District and Council are coming up in April. It's really cool to be part of a Pack that has a District and Council race. In Ohio all we had was the Pack race and then a "District" race that was put on by a Local Pack as a fundraiser since our District wouldn't have an official District race !!! They also have an "Outlaw" adult race for us overly competitive fathers at the District and Council level here ;D. I took my Pro-Stock car and changed the wheels and axles to DerbyWorx SSN's and did a little track tuning to it. Hopefully it will perform good, I have no idea how the competition is around here Lucky 13

Hey Bob, sounds like you are off to a good start there in Kentucky. Just found out we have a district race but no council race here. I'll bet that you win the outlaw race. Good Luck.

Well we had our Pinewood Derby race tonight. My boys took first place in their ranks (bear & tiger), and first and second place overall !!!! The race was on a 32ft. wood track (home-made, but very nice) with a K-3 timer with the laser start. My tiger had an average time of 2.61 and my bear had an average time of 2.62. I think the third place car had an average time of 2.65 and from there the times were in the 2.70 and above range. Next up is the District race on April 12th, we can't wait. On another good note, I got a call from my cousin in Ohio and his son took first in his rank (webelos) and second overall this past weekend with a car I helped them build right before we moved to Kentucky. Now if I could just figure out how to make my League cars win Lucky 13

Way to go Guys!!!
I'm glad to hear that the boys did so well.
I'm sure the races and Scouts will help you all become more familiar with the community and make new friends.
Congratulations again and good luck to you and the boys at the district race. Keep us posted!
Phil
