Word on the streets of Houston, Texas is that there is one very happy "Pine-Car" racer down there !! I don't want to steal no-ones thunder, so I will leave it at that........

It's true. The Pinecar race you guys have been reading about and hearing me talk about for months was last Saturday, and lady luck was with me. I entered two cars and finished first and second out of 81 cars.
Special thanks to F.A.S.T. Racing for his expert airbrush work on "Katana." For once I had a car that looked even better than it ran.
Now that this Pinecar race is over, I have no more excuses for not building new League cars. See you on the track.

Awesome job Steve!!! Were you interviewed like last time? Can't wait to hear more of the details. What was the name of the other car? Are you sending them in for WIRL next week?

Way to go Steve!
I'm sure that any of us who have raced against you never had any doubts as to the outcome of the race.
Congratulations!

Hey thanks guys: My two cars are "Katana" and "Bad Habit III." There are many pics posted on the radio station web site (go to www.thebuzz.com, then click the "Rod Ryan Show" button, then click on "pictures." "Katana" is #77 and "Bad Habit III" is #51), but out of about 200 pics, only 2 or 3 have my cars/me in them. I was not interviewed afterward like last year, and I don't recall seeing any official looking person with a video camera. So, you won't have the pleasure of seeing me sweat in front of the camera this time. However, a new found friend who posts on the Derby Worx board as "Bigtex" recorded the whole thing, and there may be a way to post the video. Bigtex builds a very fast car. He made the finals at the race and placed well into the top ten. He may, with a little friendly persuasion, join in our little monthly get together here and elsewhere. Doug, neither of these cars will work at WIRL. They have extended wheelbases and are drilled for big axles, so Pure Stock and all needle axle divisions are out -- meaning, they have no division at WIRL. BUT at PWDR, they would be perfect for Modified. You can bet on seeing one or the other here in April. I think you will see Bad Habit III, but I'm changing the name for league racing. How does "Ice" sound??? Again, thanks for all the kind words and support. Steve

Great Pictures Steve. Who are the other people with you- the guy on your left looks like the guy from the Buzz but who are the others? Your cars look awesome too! I'm glad they didn't put a sticker on Katana, wouldn't want to ruin her paint job!

Hey Bubba:
Thanks for putting up the short cut. I'd have never figured out how to do that.
Doug:
Everyone in the pic (but me) is a members of the 94.5 Morning Show crew. Left to right: Mark (a DJ), Jessica (the show's producer), Teressa (another DJ), your's truly, and Rod Ryan (the main guy/the star of the show).
