Here is what I have on my list.
A postal scale so I can use Click-And-Ship for sending stuff.
Pinewood Derby Workshop supplies:
This year I need to replace three scroll saws - one scroll saw is totally out- motor died after about 8 years, one is using duct tape to hold the table level (4 years old) and one has the "hold down piece" broken and duct tape to hold the variable speed knob in place so it can be turned on and off (2 years old - not going with that brand again!) I have found that for the workshops the simple 16" models from Ryobi are the most durable and easiest for the kids to use.
Drills - 4 still running without sparks - last year I started with 8, 2 were new ones the others were 4-5 years old. This year I want to get a full dozen drills. 4 for Wheel Prep, 4 for Axle Head Prep, and 4 for Axle polishing station.
Oh, I also need to get a few hundred pounds of tin/lead free solder for the weights . . . The donations at the workshops help but fall short of covering the costs of the workshops.
I'm thinking of switching from drills with the Pro-Wheel Mandrel and sandpaper for doing the wheels to using DerbyWorx Pro-Wheel Shaver XT II & Pro-Hub Tool combinations. Not sure if I could demo how to use them well enough for the kids to use. Maybe a version with a much finer thread so each turn is less distance. . .
A few more Pro-Wheel Mandrels and a bunch of spare tips.
A few more Pro-Body Tools would be nice but I really need the #44 drill bits. :-) A tool seems to last for a couple of years until they get "reamed out" enough that they are no longer straight guides.
A bunch (8) of the Pro-Axle Press to let kids straighten their axles.
lots and lots of sandpaper. . . 60/100/150/220 for wood/wheels and 600/1000/1500/2000 for the axles.
A REAL dust collection system for the sanders, saws and drill presses.
A couple of really strong elves to help carry things in and set up/take down each week.
