Proxxon Drill Press Machine Oil

The proxxon manual calls for machine oil to lube it. What weight / type oil are folks with a proxxon drill press using? Thanks in advance for the help.

I e-mailed Proxxon and this is what they recommend. Not sure who would have the (semi) liquid grease.

15W-40 will work fine. Here you can find some examples for (semi-) liquid

Thank you for posting this and keeping us informed. Maintenance does need to be done to the equipment to keep it is good working order.

Hey Guys,

Got a dumb question. I have the Proxxon drill press, band saw, and a few other Proxxon machines, but I don't see anything in any of the manuals about maintenance. Micro Mark sells several machines, including a drill press, band saw, table saw and possibly a few others that I'm told are actually Proxxon machines marketed under the Microlux name. So, I called Micro Mark to ask what maintenance they recommend on their machines. To my surprise the Micro Mark "technician" told me that no maintenance at all is required other than keeping them clean. That doesn't seem possible to me. All that is a long winded way of asking what you guys recommend to maintain these machines? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I've had my Micro-Mark drill press for 2 years & have drilled many cars with it & have done nothing to it but wipe the wood dust off it sits in the shop all the time

The maintenance that needs done to these machines is not much at all. Keep them clean and I wipe my Micro-Lux down with oil from time to time.
