the next 2 pics are the top 3 and where Amanda ended up over all,The car that had the top speed was jet black with flames and with fender flares /I just found out why the speed was not it should have been/bad steer to the right/must have not drilled square with the pro tool. If you go to DERBY Evolution"s website/ the car that had the top speed looks like the one on the far right in the picture but with Flares in the back.

OK I need some advice on the next 3 pictures 2 Years ago My daughter made this great CO2 car How can I take what she did and transfer it to a Pinewood derby 7 inch car By the way she won her class competition with it

If you are drilling holes. Take a block of wood. Drill holes and form a weight pocket and then bandsaw/sand until you have a 5/16" slab. Then looking from the top of the CO2 car you can trace a simliar design on the pinewood derby car. However it will need to be full width at the rear axles and have 1/16" shaved off the DFW (Steering wheel) side at the front axles...

Well over the past weekend Jonathan had his last cubscout Pinewood Derby I made a error in the fact I forgot to find the COG of the car Which will be fixed for the District race in March and a whole lot of testing with rail Rider set up Guess I should use a concrete area for the axle bending or I was a little light in the hitting of the Axle press,I used a wood table I think I am going to use fresh axles and see if that has any effect as well. Any suggetions would be great thanks Jon was happy that we made the Finals with a 3rd place in his den, His den mates also did well the one car got best in show and his other mate won the pack title Pics of those cars later today

I got a real late start on Amanda's car for the race on Saturday I cut 1/4 off and should have cut it to at least 1/2 inch, it was way to thick and I used a cooping saw and it took a long time to do. on Friday night So with some shut eye, I worked on it some more with Dermal sanding band 60 grit was doing fine but ran out of power real fast So since I had this Drill Press and had bigger sanding drums on a spindle I chucked it up and went to work and finally got the shape I wanted I had ordered a tungsten disc 3.1 oz from Derby Champ and since I had thick body I weighted it it said 5.45 oz . So I drilled a 1 inch hole front and back and 3/8 holes in the middle still not enough So I went to the small cylinders I had and small tungsten putty from Derby Monkey and Max V(Thanks to both) I finally got it to 5.0 oz I will post pics later of her times when My other camera is done charging And yes i did use the Silver Bullet for the canted axles not bad for just lining the bit with the axle slots( I need to get a laser trac someplace )
