Lucky 13 announced that the HR 66 class would be a "big axel" class. I am converting my car for the big axels, but would it be OK to leave the raised wheel as is - that is since it is inactive can I leave it with a small needle axel as was raced last month. Also I assume the wheels can be the same as last year except for using a big axel (.084 minimum diameter) - razor in front and wide in the rear. Any corrections or additions to this?

CycRunner...sorry, but all 4 wheels and axles must conform to the 2011 rules...even the raised wheel/axle. The wheel set up is the same as in 2010...wide wheels in the back and razor wheels in the front except they need to be big axles now. Lucky 13

10. Nail, pin or solid rod type axles are allowed with an overall diameter of no less than .084 inches. Some polishing and/or modification is allowed as long as overall diameter is not reduced below .084. Grooves are allowed, the depth of the groove(s) is not limited as long as the journal portion of the axle (the part the wheel rides on) is no less than the stated minimum diameter
Even though you are raising a wheel, the axle must not be less than .084 inches. Yes, the wheels are the same but just big axle. Razor in the front and wide in the rear. steepslope
