35 Spec/Tuner kits have been distributed...WOW !! I have to be honest and say that I was a little hesitant to the reaction this division would get when we announced it. I wasn't sure if it would be a flop or be successful, but it's looking like it may turn out to be a top division here at PWDR. I have had a few questions recently about the division and thought I would share them with everyone...
1. Do I have to use the cover plate ?
Yes, the cover plate is part of the Official Spec/Tuner body and must be used.
2. Can I modify the cover plate (cut it down, make it shorter) ?
No, that would be considered a modification of the body. The cover plate can be lightly sanded and either painted or stained.
3. Can I mount weights outside of the weight pocket/example...side of car body, top, front ?
No, you must use the supplied weight pocket.
4. Can I use tape to cover the weight pocket or holes in the car body ?
No
If there are anymore questions, Please feel free to post them or contact me.
Thanks Everyone,
Lucky 13

Yep...we actually ran out of kits so Andy is making some more and Warren shipped me some more Heavy Weights...Thank you both for doing that !! There has been a great response to this division. I'm looking forward to a big Spec/Tuner field at the January 2011 Season Opener !! Lucky 13

One more question for clarification - Regarding the wheels, does no sanding or material removal, except for the bore polishing, mean we can not polish the inner rim, or cone or polish the squared off end of the inner hub? If look under magnification you will see machining marks on these surfaces. If these are polished off is that a not allowed? Thanks

If look under magnification you will see machining marks on these surfaces. If these are polished off is that a not allowed? Thanks Yes, you can polish any part of the wheel, you just cannot remove material. I do however realize that polishing does remove some material. What we will be inspecting for is excessive removal of material (more than would be removed during polishing)...tread surfaces that are lightened, hubs cut down, removal of material from the wheel face, etc..all which would violate the rules. 4. WHEELS: A. The only wheels allowed for use in the Spec/Tuner Division are the Derby Worx SS wheels (black or white). Wheels may be polished. Tread surface must be flat and parallel to the wheel bore. You may add material (glue, fingernail polish, tape) to the inside of the wheel to aid in balancing, but no material may be removed. B. Wheel Bore treatments such as polishing is allowed. Wheel bores may not be filled and re-drilled to achieve better fit with the axle. C. The following wheel modifications are PROHIBITED: 1. Rounding of wheel edges. 2. Grooving, H-cutting or V-cutting. 3. Altering of wheel profile. 4. Narrowing the tread surface. 5. Drilling sidewalls. 6. Hollowing, sanding, or otherwise removing or modifying plastic material from the wheel. 7. Filling of any wheel surface with any type of material

So, to confirm we cannot cone the hub, which is now flat.
