Are these up on Lester's site now ? I can't seem to find them there. No, not yet. The bodies will be ready to go sometime in October.
Also...
Thanks to Warren and PWDRacing "Heavy Weights",each body shipped will come with 5 ounces of the 1/4" tungsten composite square bar...FREE...for use as the weights in the body !! Thank You Warren !! They will be the only weights allowed (I will be changing the rules to reflect this). So for this Division, you now will receive the Body/Peg/Weights all for FREE ($5 shipping cost) !! Please make sure to contact Andy Lester to place your order for the Spec/Tuner bodies. This Division is going to be a lot of fun !!
Thanks,Lucky 13Lucky, First of all, good news on the weights! I heard about it when I was at Lima, and the rectangular blocks will make the build much easier. Thanks, Warren, for supplying those for this division! Any chance that Derby Worx will step up to the plate and provide some type of deal for this class? Maybe if it is only part of the "kit"? This is the only regular racing class that requires a SPECIFIC wheel that can only be found through a single source. Personally, I would have hoped that this class would have required/allowed "Pure Stock" type BSA's or modified BSA(like "Stock Class"), which would be something that is widely available and is already in most builder's inventory. I think that getting Derby Worx on board with this will be a key to a large number of participants in this class. Thanks, O.R.

Question(s) on the axles. What/which are Derby Worx Pro-Axles? Anyone going to offer grooving services since grooving is allowed and I don't think they come that way? Wondering for those of us without lathes?

Nick,
The Spec/Tuner Division is designed to require each person running in the division to use the same products (spec/specific) and see who is the best at tuning/using (tuner) what they are required to use. The Derby Worx SS wheels were chosen for the first season because they are a very easy wheel to recognize at inspection and fit very well into the Spec/Tuner Division. Keeping the playing field as level as humanly possible and letting the tuning part (axle prep, wheel prep, com, cant, axle holes, etc..) of building play the biggest factor on who wins is what we are trying to achieve with this division. The problem with using BSA wheels is that it is to vague and hard to enforce. If we required everyone to use "insert wheel company" 1 gram BSA wheels only, how do we inspect that ? If we just say 1 gram wheels or BSA wheels, then the division becomes nothing more than one of the existing division here at PWDR and goes against the whole point of specific parts having to be used. By using a wheel like the Derby Worx SS/RS wheel or Jewkes Engineering XS wheel, it is easy to see that everyone is using the exact same product. The SS wheel can be found through many different sources on-line (they come with the Pro-Axles with them) and they are not that expensive, especially since you are already getting the body, peg and weights for free !! Derby Worx donates a lot of these wheels throughout the year for door prizes and I'm sure many builders out there already have a set or two sitting around or on a car that they can borrow them from.

Wondering for those of us without lathes? Rich, The Derby Worx Pro-Axles are the axles that come with the SS and RS wheels. Also, for anyone who has attended the BGN or Lima the last few years, we have handed a ton of them out courtesy of Derby Worx. I'm sure there are a few guys out there with lathes that could help you out with grooving them. Lucky 13

if anyone has a set or two of these wheels and axles, that will not be running in this class or does not use them. Let me know.
I would be interested in them at a lower prices than new.

Yes, the newer ones are the nickel plated ones. The old ones were not. Both are OK to use in the Spec/Tuner Division. They come in packages of 5 axles.

Question on the graphite lube. Some come as a mixture of graphite and moly - will that be OK and how could you tell if it was, or was not, a mixture?
