I wanted to say, officially will be doing some leage racing this year for the first time.
Some of you know me from Derbytalk and I come and post here from time to time.
I'm certainly not the fastest and may not do very well. But will enjoy entering a car into the leagues this year.
Me and the kids have done well the past few years under are council rules. Which i feel the hardest adjustment for me will be the different rules and setups that we have not done before or were limited to the council rules.
So in a way, things will be like starting over from rules and different alignment and parts stand point.
I'm aiming for Feb to have a car, but if we are not ready yet, then it will the next one.

Hello Sporty,
Welcome to PWDR. I've been away from racing and posting for a while and I'll be away for a while longer while I run a different kind of race. But I read your post and just couldn't resist the urge to say hello to you and all my friends here at PWDR. Please don't be concerned about how you do in the beginning. You might be faster than you think, and if not, you will get faster fast (I couldn't resist the word play). If I have any advice to offer someone just starting in league racing, it is pack your cars well. The post office is brutal. There is nothing more heart braking than building a car that you are really happy with, and then find that it arrived at the race in pieces. OK, well, maybe there are things more heart braking, but it still bites when it happens. As around, look at some of the shipping containers that others have built or bought and used with success, and replicate what they have done. Unless you have some time and energy to put into building your own custom shipping container, it is hard to beat a car wrapped well in bubble wrap (lots and lots of bubble wrap) and fit snugly in an 11 x 4.5 x 4.5 box.
Just a thought. Again welcome and good luck.

thanks guys for the welcome and thoughtfull words. Helping the kids all these years, why not do one for myself and send one in. I'm not fast but I also do no think im slow. but time will tell and progress will come. But i have no real interest to ever be the fastest or the top dog, it's not really who i am. But I would like to have that feeling that i raced against the best and came away with a decent time in the end of it.
