I am wanting to start building some new cars, but am unsure what rules will be changing in all the classes Steve, The latest I've heard is that all the weight must be contained within the wheels themselves - at least for you to slow you down.. ;D I'm waiting to start building myself, so you're not alone.

i dont think rules will be changing except for the pure stock class. you will be able to use the new wheels, since the old wheels will be harder to find. then we will have the new limited class like the Alaura race. some of those rules may be different due to wheel change? i will find out and see what we can get rolling. jamie

Some of the things I had wondered about were new wheels in pure stock, the 3/8 inch clearence rule in all classes, distance bewteen the wheels, ect.

I would really love to see the 3/8" clearance rule be updated. Tired of making different cars for all the different divisions.

One problem you would create at check in is that there is no way to tell how much the wheel weighs. With the new wheel, you can at least tell it's the new one with the dots/indentations and if it has full tread thickness, assume it's proper weight.

I'll be posting the 2010 rules within the next few days. There will not be a lot of changes for the new season. The areas that were addressed are....
1. There is no longer a minimum 3/8 clearance rule. Cars will just have to be built to clear the center rail of the track.
2. The new BSA wheels will be allowed for use in the Pure Stock Division.
3. Limited Division cars will now be allowed to run any wheelbase and have no 4th wheel requirement, but will still be required to use the "old" 3.3- 3.6 gram BSA wheels !! There are still a ton of the "old" style BSA wheels out there and we thought it would be cool to still have a division around for another season for everyone to use up their inventory of "old" wheels.
That's it...so get building those 2010 cars !!

To some degree, i've seen the new wheel at 1.50 and 2.2 and they look the same, the dots/indetations are still intact. But i a like the rule change Lucky posted, so there is now not much debate?

As far as the BGN, at this time, I'm not sure if I will be having it or not ? I've got a lot going on at home and may not have the time to do it in 2010. If things change, I will let everyone know asap !! Lucky 13

Maybe we could have the BGN at MOA? Would save me alot of miles! ;D
I am leaning towards a BIG RIG race sometime this year since they have the new kits out.
The specialty cars will be in APRIL - coincide with the district race OR in June to coincide with the council race at the Mall Of America. . . .
