The word is that I may have some product on Monday!!! Just hope that it is at spec and not stretched==>lower density. They are modifying an existing set of molds/heads to see if they can get the desired thickness/width. Otherwise it will be back to using a wooden mold. We did get the one 4oz piece out of the old mold. All that is left is the last 2 inches of the inner mold to get back out so it can be repolished again. . . . couldn't get it to budge with the 20ton press and a blowtorch on the outer shell! Was thinking that if it did come out it would be shooting out the bottom of the press stand with quite a bit of speed! OUCH! Kept clear while doing it. ;D

The status: the 3/8" round rod die is due back on Thursday(at the latest) I'm told. That means that I would have that product by Friday if I am lucky. . . The 1/4" x 1.5" is being done from scratch this time so it is expected late next week. The stuck compression mold has been moved despite all of my efforts. . . I even asked if I could use the new 60 ton press to see if that would make the thing come apart. They said no. . . something about the core of the mold becoming a hardened steel projectile once it broke free. wondering how many of what type I should be pushing for. . . .
