How are points awarded in the proxy races? Is it broken down by heat, fastest time, number of wins, overall wins?
Thanks, Dave

Good question Dave,
Builders get one point for entering and one point for every other car in the class that you finish ahead of. Builders only get points for their car that has the best finish in a class. So, if you have 10 cars in a class, the guy who finishes first gets 10 points, the guy who finishes last gets 1 point, etc. Say you have 10 cars in a class but one builder enters two of the 10. If his cars finish second and fourth, he will get 9 points for the one that got second, and zero points for the car that got 4th. It is done by final standing at the end of the race. Not by heats. Are you thoroughly confused. Hope not.

I'm assuming these points are recorded and added up at the end of the year. Top point getter for each division wins. The whole system is that simple? Dave

The other feature is that a car earns points for each of it's races. Since a car doesn't have to be retired a builder can get a car that has earned 100 points, 250 points, 500 points, etc. Once I get some time I will get the new lifetime car points out to the builders. Last year lots of them got delivered at BGN.

I had a question. or a comment.
how do you regulate, of say in feb, 10 cars race in a class, then only 8 car run in a class at the next race. So say two different winners for each of those two races. but one will have more points than the other due to less entries in that race.
Am i correct on that ?
The top 3 top point earners in that class get a trophy and the top three over all team/builders for all classes get a trophy. ?
You ship the trophy at the end of the season, how big are they ?

Sporty, Yes, you are correct, the points will fluctuate with the amount of cars entered. Points are based on the amount of cars entered into a divisions. A builder only receives points for their top placing car in a division, so if you enter more than one car in a division, only your top placing car earns you points in that divisions. The Top 3 in each division and Top 3 overall builders receive a trophy at the end of the year. There are no awards given out each month. The system is set up for the season. The awards given out the last few years are very nice !! They are around 6" tall and 4 1/2" wide. They are made of acrylic and the base has lights in it that change color. Here is a picture of what they look like... Lucky 13
