Maybe Andy Lester could make some more advanced designs. . . the wood species would make a difference too. The variation in the thickness of the wood at the various spots in the design would be a nice study. . . any one have a nice FEA system to use?

If someone can design it, we should be able to cut it. ;D I think it would be interesting to see how much of a spring you could get in one of these cars. You could go whole hog on this thing and make it look like a piece of spaghetti going down the track. ;D It has been my experience in running on rough tracks that the only thing that really helps in how the cars will run is a nice long PRAYER!!! Usually the fastest or best car does not win. It's all about LUCK on those bad tracks.
