Help!!!

Hey fellow racers. I know we are all frantic getting ready for Lima -- at least I know I am. But I'm hoping a few of you could take a minute or two to offer some guidance on two questions.
First, I have one car that will race next weekend that has been in MN since the race in August. It was lubed with Krytox just before I shipped her up there in early August, so she's only had six heats on that lube. However, by next Saturday (Lima) it will have been 7 weeks since I applied that lube. Here's the question -- should I reapply Krytox just before the race? And, if so, how. No way I can take the wheels off, get them back on right and align all at check in. Any ideas???
Second question -- I have never staged my own car. Have no idea what to do, or not to do. Other than the obvious (point the front end toward the finish line) are there any tricks, or any thing I should try to avoid? I really, really appreciate some tips.
Thanks in advance to those who chime in. See ya in Lima.

Hey Proquest....I am not the expert on using oil so I will leave that question for the more experienced...My first reaction would be not to re-lube since you've only had 6 heats with the lube. I would probably spin the tires a bit before the race but seems like you should have enough lube and that the car would be even faster this time The staging question. Set your car down, pull the wheels out, make sure they are square and spaced evenly from the center guide. Some people like to roll the car back a couple inches then forward to the pin. Then you are ready to roll. Good luck, see you there

Hi Steve, I would say listen to the Doctor. Two of my oil cars have not been been re-lubed for four months & the times are getting better (so far). The weather cooling down now will slow down the oils evaporation also. You should be in great shape. I watch your cars run and they all have great alignment & roll very nice. I wouldn't mess with them and maybe you could use your free time that morning & check my cars??
Thanks Doc B, never thought of the roll back then roll back up to the pin thing. I also like to offset so the up wheel side of the car is just off the rail.
6 days left till race day, oh boy oh boy 5 days left till fly day, yikes!

Steve, Unless you are pretty sure something happened to your wheels (ex. got wet, or were stored open in high humidity or dusty environment) I absolutely would not mess with them. Oil lasts at least 20 - 30 heats with out considerable drop off. And the way it ran in MN a slight drop off would probably not hurt you at all. Wait scratch that. I would go ahead and pull wheels, put gobs of oil on to be sure you have enough, and don't spin wheels any so as not to wear any off (be hard to align without rolling wheels)

Docb, Dwayne and Bob, Thanks so much for your help. I'll have five cars at Lima (7 total) that are lubed with oil. Three will have run only 6 heats total on the first/last application. The other two will be running for the first time ever. Sounds like the consensus is not to relube. Thats what I was hoping to hear. Then again, I could take Bob B's advice -- he's never steered me wrong yet. . Docb -- thanks for the tips on staging. Hopefully, I'll pick it up quickly. Dwayne. I'm not the guy to ask, but you know if I can help I'd be happy to in any way. Thanks again fellas. Talk to you soon. Best of luck to you all in Lima. ProQuest/Steve

Bob (Lucky),
I'm counting on it. Thanks.
I'm nearly finished with my latest build -- a new pro-modified. I know Lima is not the place to "test" an untried car, but maybe I'll get lucky (no pun intended). See you there.
