Dale, I just got done watching your video. ;D I went over to my local hobby shop the other day. I looked in and it was dark. I thought, oh dang! I really needed a piece of wood and NOW! I went up to the door and the hours said it was open. I pulled on the door and it opened up! The owner was sitting behind the counter with the lights off. I said I thought you were closed. He said nope, just cheaper with the lights off! He told me with the internet and large hobby shops available to all, it's hard to make a living in the hobby business. I knew this guy for 25 years and he has operated this shop. I told him, hey, this is the last pack of #2-56 screws, got anymore in the back.......he said all I have is on the rack. Almost everytime I go in there, unless it's close to Christmas I'm the only one in the store. He told me, most of my customers are your age or older (I'm no Spring Chicken) {shut up Scott!}........kids today don't want to be bothered with this stuff. Got to be playing those electronic games. It's a shame. No wonder the country is the way it is! No craftsmanship anymore and if you are a craftsman, nobody wants to pay you for it!!!!
When I started this hobby, I figured with all the years of machining experience I had, if I couldn't build a better mouse trap I was going to give it up. It took a while and with some pointers from one of the best PWD racers ever (BnB) he filled in the missing pieces to the puzzle. I owe that guy a lot!
I agree with you Dale, guys should support the PWD vendors and that includes ALL the vendors. (I don't want to see this hobby go by the wayside.) I am not saying anyone vendor is superior to another one, but that if you can't make wheels and axles then do the next best thing. Buy a good set, buy a proven set! Look at the guys at the top, ask them where they buy their wheels and axles from........this is what a forum is for......don't be shy.........just don't ask me to make wheels for you! Not retired yet!!!! ;D

Nice video. I would also add support your favorite PWD league. To my knowledge there are two leagues currently holding monthly races. Each league has overhead costs that need met each month. If the leagues can't meet there costs they go away. If the leagues go away then all that will be left is the once a year races.
If you are an experienced racer and you are sitting on the sideline. If you think your car/cars are slow this month and don't want to race. What will happen if the leagues go away? Where will you race? Activity draws other activity. This goes for the races and the forums. Ever see a crowd gathered and you stop to see what is going on? Logging into the forum and participating in the races is important to league growth.
If you are a new racer, one of the best ways to learn is to jump in and start racing. Getting a baseline time for your car or cars on the league track will help you know where you stand against the rest of the league. You can then build on those times each month. A lot of guys that have desired to get to the top of league racing have had a goal of beating themselves each month. Before long they realized they were running with the best in the league.

Goat Boy: love the addition of the shoutbox.

Goat Boy: I belong to a lot of forums for different interests and the shoutbox is normally positioned at the top of the page. I think it works better at the top. Is there a chance you will be moving it or is the bottom the spot you best like?

Evolution: Goat I know there are many great new features to the new board. Many of them have to be setup and it will take time to learn how to use the new format.

Evolution: I think if we give it a little time so that features can be added and/or moved around that this format will be better then over allowing members to get their questions answered even easier.
