The tune up worked great, but I will not rest on it. BSB, Sky, Derby Freak, and others are always working on ways to be much faster then that. This is going to keep me on my toes for sure. Cash was on his game in other classes, but seemed a little off today in Extreme. I know him and Casmier are also smoking fast in Extreme. There is no rest in this class.
Those that have not built a bearing car should, there is no oil prep each month. The Extreme class is a tuners class for sure.

So what you're saying Steve, between events you just clean and re-lube your bearings? Everything else is tweaking the COM and geometry? Sounds like fun to me...

I believe most run their bearings dry so no re-lube is required. Just tuning! There are exceptions of course, right BSB?

hmmmmmm... sounds like a little A-B test & tune would be in order. Even more fun! This needs to go on my future to-do list.

BSB and 5Kids are right, the bearings are run dry. This really makes the class a tuners class. Once you have the parts it becomes a tuning thing. It is nice because you can design many different style bodies and find what works well for you will body style, weight placement, ect.

Okay, so here's my plan. Get my feet wet in Pure Stock, then make the jump straight to Extreme Pro Mod! Sounds logical huh?
Seriously, the tuning sounds like a lot of fun, I definitely see that in the future.

Not to scare you, but Pure Stock is tougher than Extreme!

NOW you tell me! ;D Notice I didn't say figure out, just get my feet wet... and when my grandson's pack race rolls around again next February, I'll be able to tutor him (and my son-in-law ) plus have something for 'em in the adult division... As for the move to Extreme, that's strictly a matter of time and money!

While the cost of the extreme class is higher on the parts, people do not have to spend the money on lubes, waxes, polishes, ect. So in the end it really is not as bad as people think.

Yup, my browser and calculator have been working overtime Steve... I can see once I have the Pure Stock in play, the investment to go Extreme will be for little else than wheels, axles and bearings...

Don't forget to buy weights or the bearings will do you no good! Oh yeah... the "motor"... ;D Steve's tungsten is so reasonable, it's easy to forget that cost
