I held my first workshop at the shop. It was one den with several others from the local pack. The kids were great and seemed to have a great time.
Tonight we just went over some very basic things. We then drill every block and cut out their designs. Sky Racing was in the shop and decided he would lathe turn all the kids wheels that came to the workshop. He turned 15 sets of wheels tonight. He did a great job and I did not see a single wheel with over .001 runout. This sure beats what I saw coming out of the kits. I was really surprised at the amount of runout I saw on some of the wheels. I saw as much as .012 with the lowest being .005.
We explained that the parents need to polish the axles, weight placement, and the need to paint the car well before the race so that it has more then enough time to dry.
We have another workshop setup for Weds. and maybe we will hold one more.
