Evo, Sorry, on all these questions. I am building cars and doing a few things different... It might help some of the other racers out as they are building for second half of year.
With respect to leveraging washers in the Limited class, here are a few questions.
Do the washers have to be free floating?
If the washers do not have to be free floating, can they be attached to the body and/or the inner/outer wheel hubs?
With respect to the axles. Do the axles have to made out of one common component or can they be constructed of several components?
Does the axle head need a traditional metal head in Limited?
Thanks! Kent

Evo, I will clarify the axle part..... Can we use two distinct components to make a finished axle? These components will not be mixed together. They would just exist along side each other. Murph

Kent Kent, Washers do not need to be free floating. They may be attached to the body but may not be attached to the inner/outer wheel hubs. The only material that may be added to the wheel (that is specified) is nail polish to aid in balancing the wheel. The rules specify nail, pin or one piece rod. If you are using multiple components for your axle, I believe that would be fine as long as the overall diameter is not reduced below the .084 requirement. I believe the rules assume that the axles are made out of metal, or have a metal component to them, as they specify polishing and the allowance of grooves. Since you may use pins or a one piece rod, I would say that a traditional metal head is not needed in the Limited class. I'm sure Evo will jump in and clear up anything I have missed or not considered. Oh, I see that he has! steepslope
