I'm curious why the rules state Some polishing and/or modification is allowed as long as overall diameter is not reduced below .084 requirement..
So far the research I've been doing tells me that the larger .091 axles are better because they fit the bore tighter and you do not want to make axles smaller by taking away too much material. So why would this actually be an advantage? is there some point at which this becomes an advantage? Just thinking out loud about needle axles.

With all the wheels and axle choices allowed, what is the norm? Do most of you stick with bsa stuff? I'm not familiar with any of the other wheels. just wondering if they can be made as fast or faster?

Anything below a .084 axle is considered a needle at PWDR. So the minimum an axle can be and still be legal in the Mills Craft Divisions is .084. The rule is based around the diameter of a worked BSA axle, most of which start out around a .087 diameter and get slightly smaller as they are sanded/prepped. Yes, a larger diameter axle works better with the wheel bores of the Mills Craft Factory Stock Division legal wheels because it reduces the axle to bore gap, especially since you cannot use any type of insert or bushing in the wheels to make the bore smaller, so you need to find a way to reduce the gap and bigger axles are the only legal way to do that. A smaller axle would more than likely work against you. However in the Mills Craft Pro-Division, bushings and inserts are legal in the wheels, so the need to set a minimum diameter for axle size is critical. Lucky 13

BSA wheels are the most popular wheel used in the Mills Craft Factory Stock Division, but I wouldn't be shocked to see some of the new Max-V Precision Stock wheels used on a few of the cars. Lucky 13

I received a question about the Mills Craft Factory Stock Division and thought I would post it here just to make sure everyone was on the same page....
Can you use washers in the Mills Craft Factory Stock Division ?
Answer...No, rule 4F prohibits the use.
F. Bearings, bushings, washers, sleeves, hubcaps or inserts attached to or in contact with the axle, body or wheels.
