I see that PWDR has a specialty race for Mills Craft Factory Stock in April. I plan on building a truck for this race. You can get these kits from Evolution or directly from Mills Craft. Both are sponsors of PWDR. At 2010 BGN there were some very nice Mills Craft Cars/Trucks. MWD and DaPine come to mind. It would be fun if we had a bunch of these cars/trucks to race. If anyone has some pictures to share that would be cool. Murph SLT

Murph, The Mills-Craft bodies can be purchased from Mills-Craft directly or from my site www.derbyevolution.com/This is a very fun class and I believe everyone that builds a Mills-Craft car or truck enjoys it. I like building the trucks personally but I am a truck guy.

I enjoyed building my Mills Craft more than all of the skate boards put together. For those who haven't built a car or truck for this class, I would highly recommend it. Have Fun... MWD

Has anyone posted what the bottom of these cars look like? I've seen the tops and sides. What's the bottom of the car look like? I've got an order in, but I'd like see what needs to be done. Showing a bottom pic from a really fast finished Mills Craft car would be OK, too.

Is this kit in Craft stores like A C Moore and Maybe Michaels I think I have seen them as different kits or is that a different maker and is this a proxy race or regular league race To my knowledge, they aren't sold in any craft stores, but I may be wrong ? The Mills Craft Factory Stock Division is part of the regular proxy race in April. We run all the normal divisions and the Mills Craft division also. Normal entry fees apply, but no points are awarded. The winner receives 50% of the entry fees for the division. Lucky 13

Lucky you are right I looked at them today what I saw is put out by Peachtree INC. It is a kit that a child can paint and race it does have alot of Pinecar items in it. Weights,Wheels, and you can use long or short axles. I just may look into that race and of course the SPec/Tuner race once Amanda is done with her race on the 26 of March I can have my fun with you guys

I believe you would like building a Mills-craft car or truck. They are very fun builds that are unlike anyother division. Have a look at my site and see if any of the three mills-craft bodies interest you.

I am now starting to work on my first Mills Craft - Mustang body for April. I am using BSA wide wheels. Here is my problem: There is a very small clearance between the OD of the wheels and the wheel wells. About .015 to .020 of an inch. This will be a rail rider. My first concern is the difficulty in raising one wheel - there isn't any room for this without the wheel contacting the diameter of the wheel well, so the wheel would not spin freely, which is a stated rule. The same issue exists when trying to cant the wheels! My first thought was to enlarge the wheel well to provide more clearance, but the rules seem to prohibit this - or would this be OK? It would not, however, be easy to do. And, we can't reduce the diameters of the wheels either. So, what is the solution? Is this unique to the Mustang body?

Enlarging the wheel well openings would be against the rules. Hollowing the inside of the wheel wells would not. The outside of the car/truck must look stock. If you lift one wheel slightly and then add a positive cant on the dominate front wheel, you should have no problem having one raised wheel....look at the picture of MWDs truck in the picture above. It has a positive cant on the dominate wheel, lifted non-dominate wheel and canted rear wheels. You could also re-drill the front dominate wheel axle hole a little lower in the body. When I built my Mills Craft Stock Truck, I thought I would run into problems canting the rear wheels, but I didn't. I just used a little less cant on the axles and they cleared with no problem. You could also re-drill the rear axle holes a little lower in the body to give you a little more room to cant/clear. Lucky 13
