Just registered on your mesage board. My son and I have been lurking around on here learning all we can. I guess it is time we get registered and jump in with you guys to learn more. This is my kids last year in scouts. I want him to do good at district race his last year, so that is why I am here to learn more. There is a family that always wins at our district race and we want to beat them badly, so any help we can get sure would be great! We are fast but really need to get an edge on the other scouts.... thanks

I live in southern ohio and my kid lives in kentucky with his mother. I get to see him on the weekends and that is when we work on the cars together. we have an old 32 foot wood track that helps, but the district race uses a fancy aluminum track. From what I read, there is lots of difference in making a car fast on each. hope we can learn somthing, his race is march 5th. not much time!

Welcome JackRabbit! There are lots of good racers in the Ohio and Kentucky area! (Seems like there is a glut of them in those states, actually). I am in Texas, but there are lots of guys on this forum who will be happy to lend you a hand. These guys are competitive but they believe in sharing info and helping each other out!
My son "crossed over" last year, so we no longer get to do PWD in Scouts. Ok, HE no longer gets to do PWD in Scouts-- I'm still involved in the Cub Scout race (yeah.... they can't get rid of me THAT easily-- just because I don't have a kid in Cub Scouts doesn't mean MY PWD days are over! LOL!). I hope that you and your son build a lightening fast car this year! My son "retired" as a three time District Champion-- and I have to admit-- it does feel pretty darn good! Hope that ya'll get that experience!
Good luck and be sure to ask lots of questions on here-- there is always someone with just the answers that you need!
