Hey Lucky,
You might want to go back and edit the first post in this particular thread. It states you have to use lead.
I realize that it is not the official rules thread, but some may not bother to go find that one.
I find myself using this thread for info on the division since it has been near the top of active threads.
Just an idea.

That long blackish stick is the PwdRacing Heavy Weights 1/4" bar made from the Tundra tungsten composite.
Each car/kit will have the weights provided so enjoy!

We have given away 30 Spec/Tuner kits so far !! Thanks everyone for your interest in this division. I posted a picture of the Spec/Tuner car I built in the "Car Photo" section for everyone to see and get an idea of what they look like assembled. One thing I noticed when building the car is that if you narrow the front dominate side and cant the axle, you may have a problem meeting the 1 3/4 clearance rule when you mount the peg on the non-dominate side. If you run into this problem, it is fine to use a small spacer between the peg and body to move the peg out to meet the 1 3/4 requirement. I cut an extra Lester Racing peg in half and used it as spacer and it worked perfect. With this being a new division and the kits just now starting to circulate, if anyone has any issues or questions, please feel free to post them or drop me a line and we will get them figured out and answered for you. Thanks Everyone, Lucky 13

This spec/tuner class is going to be extremely fun!
I worked on those Derby Worx wheels this weekend for Spec/Tuner. I really like those wheels! There was very little run-out in the machining of the wheels. With respect to quality of machining, these wheels are better than the other ones that are sold on the market based on a small sample size of wheels.
I polished and waxed the axles and wheel bores. That is it. The axles fit tight in the wheel bores. Graphite, with small particle size, might work better with these wheels. I used Max V. I like the new applicator on the bottle.
These axles might benefit from some grooving to be able to hold graphite. I don't know. I have never run grooved axles with graphite.
I entered the car in the Stock Class for this weekend. It will be the one with the graphite on the wheels! The car is slower than the oilers.
I am sure there will more speed in the bore/ axle prep and possible axle grooving as racers find more speed.
It will be interesting to see if the track times go down in Spec/Tuner throughout the year. I am sure that the times will increase in the summer when the humidity goes up. I cannot get speed with graphite when the humidity starts going up!

We don't have the spec tuner car done yet. My boy wants to paint it so hopefully we can have it ready for next race!
We put the derby worx wheels on a long wheel base car that might be raced in Limited in 2011. We will put regular PWD wheels on the long wheel base car at that 2011.
