Thinking of standardizing on 1/4" thick pieces. . . . if so, then Weight Lengths in Inches Weight/Width | 1” | 1.25” | 1.5” | 3.25 oz | 1 4/5 | 1 4/9 | 1 1/5 | 4 oz | 2 2/9 | 1 7/9 | 1 1/2 | 4.5 oz | 2 1/2 | 2 | 1 2/3 |
Would a different thickness be better? 1/4" thick gives a 4 ounce weight that is 1.5" X 1.5" . . . SQUARES are on the order page. ;D I will be looking at switching to the rectangles to aid in the processing of the weights.

OK, the ROUND ROD will be available in 3/8" size. It weighs 2oz for 4 inches. . . so 1/2oz per inch. . . . based on the initial prototype run of the material and process. Working on getting a bunch of the rounds cranked out by Lima. Waiting on the square production molds to get those made. Check out the mfg web site. www.tundracompanies.com/They are going to be adding the "Gravity Powered Pinecar Weights" to the "Markets" page soon!

Warren
I'm with Slo Steve on the 1/4" rectangles. That would be ideal for a 1/4" platform. Are they possible, or I should ask, probable?
Thanks...

The compression molds for the 1.25" square size has been drafted and sent out for milling. . . hope to get it next week. This week is making 1.25" rounds. I am making 2oz, 2.5oz, 3.25oz, 4oz, and 4.5oz in this diameter. I removed the square options from the ordering page until I get the new molds. www.pwdracing.com/heavyweights

These are NOT LEAD(Pb) . . . they are a tungsten composite that is heavier then lead(Pb).
I have some photos of the rounds at the beginning of the thread. I'll get some photos of the squares when the new molds get in.
Thanks!

I was told that I will get one of the square molds tomorrow. It will probably be the 1.5" square mold.
I also have some photos. . . .

Warren, do you have a weight on the 1/8'' slabs, and their dimensions (other than thickness) ?
Thanks

The thickness is actually just under 1/8", the one I have in front of me is .112" and .774" (just over 3/4") wide.
The length of the ones in the photo are 1.75" so they can be under the car body. I am thinking of actually making the sections 3.5" long so people can cut them in half for the 1.75" pieces if desired.
I attached the strips with double sided tape. Basically the material is considered a plastic when using adhesives on it.

Warren, how do I go about getting a couple of those 1/4" x 1.5" x 1.5" 4oz weights? Your shopping list doesn't include them

They aren't on the list because the mold failed. . . If you want to "pre-order" some, just select the round round disc and make a note on the order that you really want the rectangles. . . and send me a PM just in case. I hope to get some made to take with me to Lima and have mass quantities available by October. The form will be 1/4" thick by 1.5" wide. 4 ounces is going to be a square, 4.5 ounces will be a bit longer - .18" longer. The "length" of the various weights will be: Weight | Length (Precise) | 2oz | 3/4" (0.74") | 2.5oz | 1" (0.92") | 3.25oz | 11/5" (1.20") | 4oz | 11/2" (1.48") | 4.5oz | 12/3" (1.66") | 5oz | 17/8" (1.85") |
I should note that I always err on the side of too much weight instead of too little. The process charts have a definite skew to being over weight. . . . just like me! ;D

I'll check on Monday to see if they are available yet. How many would you like? I put one in the back of a Lester Lazer after taking out the area reserved for the axle - realized that I have an effective density much higher then using the tungsten cubes with the gap between the front rows and the back row! I have to make sure I don't take too much off the front or it ends up "floating" on the front like Da Pine's car at Lima. . . maybe I can pick up some speed. . . . testing track needed.

Mr.Slick, I'd like 3. I have a couple of cars for the Alaura race in the works and would like to use your weights. I'll even post under-construction pic's if you'd like
Thanks...
