Hello ScoutMom!
There are a few from that area, they may be a bit shy but give them time and they will acknowledge that they too are from that part of the country.
BTW, the weather here is another cloudy day with the current temperature of 16 degrees F. -- forecast is a high of a balmy 26F! and tomorrow's high is supposed to be 16F with snow! ;D

We live in Commerce, which is about an hour out of Dallas-- east. We are also about an hour south of the Oklahoma line. Our district is north Texas and south east Okalahoma for Boy Scouts. Commerce is a small town, but home of Texas A&M at Commerce. That is our claim to fame. It is a nice town, though-- very homey and friendly. (Except when it comes to Pinewood Derbies-- because people are COMPETITIVE! LOL!)

Hello to all,
Looking forward to starting proxy races in April. Our PWD is March 7th. Our pack just bought a new track- 4 lane 48 ft. aluminum- so I want to see how my cars and my son's cars perform before sending in. Also, want to see if I can beat jayjayrocketman this year. I think we might form a racing team and see what we can do against the pros. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Howdy! I've been on here for a little while, but just realized this subforum was here.
This is our 3rd year in scouts, and thus our 3rd PWD season. I have a Webelo, Bear, and Tiger this year, and we did really well last year, but there are tons of things I've learned from here since then that will hopefully help my boys improve.
If they're interested, we might even send the cars in for a proxy race or two after District. I'll definitely have to build a car to send in, if the PineWood Widow (aka my wife) lets me.

Roosclan, We are glad to have you with us !! Sounds like there will be a lot of years of Scout pinewood derby racing in your future. It's good to hear this forum has helped you out. Good luck in your upcoming races and we hope to see you on the track here at PWDR in the future as well. Lucky 13
